On May 22, 2026, the Philippine Institute of Architects (PIA) – Makati Chapter held its first General Membership Meeting at Fashion Interiors, Chino Roces, Makati, bringing together emerging and established practitioners for an afternoon of meaningful dialogue and professional exchange.
The gathering provided young architects with a rare opportunity to engage directly with respected industry leaders, including Arch. Carmelo T. Casas, Arch. Barbie Del Castillo-Go, Arch. Gary Coscolluela, Arch. Roy A. Villarosa, and Arch. Joel Vivero Rico, through an insightful roundtable discussion on the realities and evolving landscape of architectural practice.
Conversations explored architecture as a business, heritage and conservation, team dynamics, and the integration of modern and contemporary technologies into the profession topics that continue to shape the future of design and practice in the Philippines.
Joining the event were notable guests Paulo Alcazaren, BluPrint Editor-in-Chief, and Arch. Daniel Terence Yu, PIA National President, whose presence underscored the chapter’s commitment to fostering mentorship, collaboration, and thought leadership within the architectural community.
As the first GMM of the chapter, the event set a strong foundation for future engagements that aim to connect generations of architects and strengthen the profession through dialogue, shared experience, and collective growth.
