Sharing this reflection from our Principal Designer, IDr. Michelle Bagro, on her experience attending the Manila Interior Design Summit 2025, hosted by the Philippine Institute of Interior Designers - PIID

For us, staying involved in the profession means continuing to learn, discovering what’s new, and building meaningful connections across the industry—so there is always more to bring into the work we do for our clients.

We are pleased to share that our Principal Designer and Founder, IDr. Ma. Stella Michelle Bagro, currently serves as Secretary of the Philippine Institute of Interior Designers (PIID) Negros Chapter for the 2026–2027 term.

As the accredited professional organization of licensed interior designers in the Philippines, PIID plays an important role in fostering professional development, collaboration, and the continued growth of the profession.

Having recently established her practice in Negros, IDr. Michelle views this role as an opportunity to become more deeply involved in the local design community, contribute through service, and continue learning from the people, experiences, and perspectives that shape the region.

She believes that meaningful professional growth comes not only from practice, but also from participation—supporting the profession, engaging with fellow practitioners, and remaining open to lifelong learning.

Some of the most meaningful parts of our lives aren’t the things we own, but the stories attached to them.

Over time, travel souvenirs, awards, photographs, and personal keepsakes begin to accumulate. Without a place for them, they often disappear into storage, drawers, and forgotten corners of the home.

This project was never simply about creating more storage. It was about creating room for memories to be seen, milestones to be celebrated, and future chapters to unfold.

Because thoughtful interior design isn’t only about how a space looks today. It’s about how it continues to support the life being lived within it for years to come.

In an increasingly digital world, we still believe some conversations deserve a dedicated space.

Not a rushed exchange of messages, but a focused discussion about your goals, challenges, and the way you want your space to support the life or business you’re building.

Our studio in Bacolod serves as a place for design consultations, project presentations, material reviews, and collaborative planning sessions—allowing every project to begin with the clarity and attention it deserves.

One of the biggest misconceptions about interior design is that great spaces are built around standout features.

In reality, they’re built around relationships—between light and shadow, open and concealed storage, aesthetics and function, the client’s vision and the designer’s expertise.

The concealed door may catch your attention first. But it’s often the less obvious decisions—the layered lighting, integrated storage, and careful balance of elements—that shape how a space feels and performs over time.

Based in Bacolod and Manila, MAST Interior Solutions provides interior design, space planning, renovation, fit-out, and design consultation services for residential, commercial, and healthcare projects throughout the Philippines.

Clients don’t hire designers because they have no ideas.

More often, they already know what they like. They’ve saved inspiration from Pinterest, Instagram, and countless screenshots along the way.

The value of a designer lies in determining whether those ideas can work within a space—and refining them so they perform beautifully in everyday life.

For this project, what began as a client-inspired concept evolved into a concealed bedroom door seamlessly integrated into the TV feature wall. Beyond the visual impact, the design also introduced much-needed storage, transforming an underutilized area into a solution that is both functional and intentional.

Great design isn’t about taking ownership of a vision. It’s about helping bring it to life in a way that works better than imagined.

An interior design office is expected to look good. That's the easy part.

The real challenge is creating a space that communicates who we are before a single word is spoken.

Every decision in our office was intentional—not only to reflect our aesthetic, but to express the way we think about design: thoughtful, enduring, and deeply connected to the people who use it.

Because while interiors begin with what we see, their impact is ultimately measured by what we feel.

MAST Interior Solutions is a Manila and Bacolod-based interior design firm specializing in residential, commercial, healthcare, and hospitality interiors across the Philippines.
