You know what makes it even more revolting? While a man casually dragged Anne Curtis into his uncalled-for and disgusting “analogy,” she was somewhere else entirely—worried for her daughter and husband in the Middle East, following the recent missile attacks that forced families to take shelter.
One moment, a woman is carrying the quiet terror of motherhood; the next, she’s reduced to a throwaway line meant to entertain men in power.
This is what women are forced to survive in a world that still treats them as objects before it ever acknowledges their humanity.
You can be a devoted mother, a hardworking artist, a businesswoman who builds and sustains—and men with rotting morals will still try to shrink you, flatten you, and strip you of substance, because disrespect comes easily to those who’ve never had to earn decency.
And this didn’t even happen on some random day—it happened during International Women’s Month, a time meant to recognize women’s labor, pain, and power, not mock it.
The insult isn’t just what was said—it’s how normal it STILL is to say it. And if such remarks can be made inside a hall full of politicians who are supposed to prioritize the welfare of the people, imagine what’s being said about women in private, in a room full of misogynistic pigs.
And if they can do it to an influential woman like Anne, imagine how easily they can do it to the rest of us.
So NO. I won’t end this on a peaceful note. Keep that rage burning, and use that fire to never let these kinds of men push their twisted narrative.
