"My Breast Cancer Story"
In June 2021, I joined Pru Life UK as a Financial Advisor.
Never in my life did I imagine that a few years later, I would become my own client — filing an insurance claim not for someone else, but for myself.
In January 2025, I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer Stage 1A HER2 Positive — an aggressive type of cancer.
✅ No smoking
✅ No alcohol
✅ No family history
✅ Healthy eating
But still… it happened.
Good thing I had prepared early. I had two life insurance policies with Pru Life UK — PAA+ and Elite 15 — and they became my shield during the toughest battle of my life. Because of these, I didn’t have to touch my savings or borrow money. I was able to focus on one thing: healing.

• Biopsy – ₱15,000 (the test that confirmed my diagnosis)
• Mastectomy with Breast Reconstruction – ₱300,000 (removal of one breast to stop the cancer from spreading)
• Chemotherapy (6 cycles) – ₱31,000/session (destroys cancer cells to prevent them from multiplying)
• Doctor’s PF – ₱10k–₱15k per cycle
• Trastuzumab (18 sessions) – ₱56,000/session (a targeted therapy for HER2-positive cancer to stop the growth of cancer cells)
• Tamoxifen – ₱800 per box (hormone therapy that lowers the chance of recurrence for the next 10 years)
• Filgrastim – ₱2,000 each × 4 pcs per cycle × 6 months (boosts white blood cells after chemo)
On top of this are weekly blood tests, 2D echo, scans, and other maintenance medicines.

The process was surprisingly fast. After I submitted my documents, the benefit was credited to my account in no time.

Because of this support:
