The world offers noise, quick fixes, and empty promises. But when you're weary, drained, and done trying, run to Jesus. He doesn’t just refill your cup, but He becomes your living water. 🤍

Just like the Samaritan woman at the well (John 4), we all try to fill the emptiness with things that don’t last. But Jesus told her, "𝗪𝗵𝗼𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗸𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗜 𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁." (𝗝𝗼𝗵𝗻 𝟰:𝟭𝟰)

When your heart is dry, don’t look around, look at Jesus. He is the only one who truly satisfies.

Let your emptiness lead you back to Him.

Proverbs 4:18

But the path of the righteous is like the dawning light that shines more and more until the perfect day.

The sunrise, the dawning light, pushes back the darkness and cold, warming the world.

It makes our way visible, it grows vines, stretches boughs, coaxes flowers to bloom, and ripens fruit. It nourishes us with vitamin D like no pill, no food, can.

In all different ways, Christians bring light to the world. People who love God emit goodness through their art, their words, their passions, their love. Some light up rooms. Their joy, their smile, their interest in others, their care, and their helpfulness glow. They inspire those they meet to goodness. Others, who may not have beaming personalities, spread goodness at a distance through clever ideas and helpful creations.

We all have a light to share, a light given to us by God.

Like lights in the darkness, those who love God emit encouragement, hope, peace, faithfulness, goodness, and joy.

The longer we know our Savior and the more time we spend with God, the greater our goodness grows, the more vines we grow, the more boughs we stretch, the more flowers we coax to bloom, the more fruit we help to ripen.

We are sunlight for our world.

Reflection

What abilities has God given me that benefit others?

Prayer

Holy and loving God, Please help me to shine. Help me to use the abilities You’ve given me to glorify You in my life today. Help me provide a path to You that others may easily follow. In Jesus’ holy name I pray, Amen.

Romans 10:13

For, “Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

To the Jewish people a long time ago, the Ninevites were a people who seemed beyond hope.

They were so evil that God’s prophet, Jonah, refused to deliver a message of God’s mercy to them.

The Ninevites were proud behind their extraordinary 40-foot high city walls, and they were unrelenting in their violence toward nations around them. Jonah didn’t want to share any part of His loving God with them.

But God was insistent. It wasn’t enough that He had the heart of the Jewish nation; He wanted the Ninevites as well. He wanted all the world. He still does.

So, God chased Jonah down with a great fish. He swallowed him up and three days later spit him out on the shores of that evil city. And to Jonah’s surprise, the godless Ninevites repented.

God still seeks “Ninevites.” He still runs after those who are ignorant of Him, those who don’t practice civility, those who are grossly evil, hardened, neglectful, or selfish. Our fearsome world leaders, our Hollywood stars, the violent stranger in the headlines, our seemingly heartless relatives, are all on God’s Most Wanted list.

His love can slice through hatred and bring out the soft heart beneath… of anyone. Whoever it is.

Reflection

Who in my life seems hopelessly far from God? How can I convey God’s love for them?

Prayer

Loving Lord, I lift up to You those in my life who seem so full of hate. You love all the world and You can change anyone’s heart. Help me to look at others with hope and convey Your love to them. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐠𝐠𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐲 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬? 𝐘𝐨𝐮'𝐫𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐞. God isn’t measuring your prayer by its length or eloquence—He’s looking at your heart 💖.

The parable of the Pharisee and the tax collector (Luke 18:9-14) reminds us that the words themself are 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀.

👂🏼God hears the ones who barely have words, the ones filled with silence, the ones soaked in tears. Your prayers don’t need to be loud to be heard. Even a quiet prayer said in weakness is strong in God’s hands.

When we come before God in prayer, we can come as we are. 𝑶𝒖𝒓 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒄𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑯𝒆𝒂𝒗𝒆𝒏𝒍𝒚 𝑭𝒂𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒔 𝒖𝒔.
