My admiration for my parents is beyond words ❤️
Growing up, I never saw my father give my mother flowers or expensive gifts on Valentine’s Day. But when he started working, he handed his entire salary to her keeping only a small allowance for himself. Not because he was forced to, but because he trusted her completely. He knew she was the heart of our home, the one who managed everything with wisdom and care.
They weren’t sweet in the usual, showy ways. There were no grand romantic gestures. But my mother never measured love through material things she measured it through actions. My father showed his love in quiet, consistent ways. His way of being affectionate was through playful teasing. He would lovingly tease Inay, and when she started to get really annoyed, he would crack a joke because he knew how easily he could make her laugh. 🤣 Just like that, the tension would disappear. I never heard him speak harshly to her. I saw him work tirelessly, provide for our family, and treat her with respect. I never saw him raise his voice at my mother. When she corrected him, he simply listened.
That is the real secret to forever: a respectful husband and a patient wife.A woman only reflects how she treated.Through every hardship and every season of life, they stood side by side and overcame it all together.
Love isn’t perfect every day. Some days you are tired. Some days test your patience . Some days you feel like giving up. But you choose to stay—because marriage is about filling what is lacking in each other. It’s choosing understanding when it’s difficult. It’s choosing commitment over emotion, love over pride.
What God has joined together may not be perfect—but it is meant to stand firm. Built on patience. Strengthened by understanding. Guided by faith. Rooted in deep respect for one another...
This is the kind of love I grew up witnessing—
Quiet. Strong. Faithful.
A love that endures.❤️
And to those who didn’t receive flowers this Valentine’s Day, please remember: love is not measured by bouquets.
Flowers are beautiful, but they are not the true proof of love. Love is seen in the everyday sacrifices, in the quiet efforts, in the way someone chooses you again and again. It’s in the hard work, the respect, the patience, and the commitment shown even when no one is watching.
A bouquet may come with a note, but it is not the signature of genuine love. Many receive flowers, yet still part ways. What truly matters is how love is lived out daily—how it is expressed through actions, not just occasions.
So if you didn’t receive flowers, don’t let your heart feel heavy. Look instead at how you are being treated every day. Real love is not always loud or extravagant—it is steady, faithful, and consistent.
Sometimes the greatest love isn’t wrapped in ribbons.
It’s wrapped in responsibility, loyalty, and respect. 🤍
Happy Valentine’s Day 💜
