31 MOST WANTED PERSONS CAPTURED IN 24-HOUR NATIONWIDE OPS

The Philippine National Police (PNP) recorded the arrest of 31 most wanted persons nationwide during the period 08:00 AM of May 1 to 08:00 AM of May 2, 2026, even as police forces were heavily deployed for Labor Day security operations across the country.

The arrests were carried out in different regions including NCR, Ilocos, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, Bicol, Western Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Northern Mindanao, and CARAGA. The coordinated operations demonstrate sustained law enforcement activity alongside public safety duties for Labor Day-related events.

Among those arrested were individuals with pending Warrants of Arrest for serious offenses such as r**e, statutory r**e, qualified r**e, murder, qualified statutory r**e, sexual assault in relation to RA 7610, trafficking in persons, syndicated estafa, carnapping, robbery with homicide, and violations of RA 9165.

Key arrests included a wanted person in Bulacan for two counts of r**e and lascivious conduct, a suspect in Quezon for statutory r**e, a top regional wanted person in Biliran facing frustrated murder and robbery with homicide cases, and several individuals in Leyte, Isabela, and Negros Occidental facing multiple counts of r**e and murder-related charges.

Operations were conducted at various times of the day, from early morning to afternoon and evening, through joint efforts of city and municipal police stations, CIDG field units, intelligence units, and regional mobile force battalions.

PNP Chief, Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., said the results show that police operations continue even under full deployment conditions. “Habang naka-focus tayo sa Labor Day security kahapon, tuloy ang paghahabol natin sa mga wanted persons. Hindi humihinto ang serbisyo ng PNP,” he said.

He added that the accomplishment reflects steady coordination among field units. “Ang mahalaga dito, sabay ang seguridad ng publiko at ang pagpapatupad ng batas. Ganyan ang trabaho ng pulisya,” he noted.

The PNP said the operations are aligned with its Focused Agenda under Enhanced Managing Police Operations, ensuring continuous, intelligence-driven law enforcement nationwide, in support of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to strengthen peace and order while maintaining lawful and rights-based policing.

All arrested individuals are now under the custody of their respective operating units for proper documentation and legal proceedings.

Mabilis na naapula ang sunog sa Brgy. B**a Oriental, Sto. Tomas, Isabela matapos ang agarang pagresponde ng Sto. Tomas Police Station at Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Sto. Tomas, na nagligtas sa komunidad mula sa mas malawak na pinsala.

Sa ilalim ng pamumuno ni Philippine National Police Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., patuloy na pinapalakas ng PNP ang kakayahan nitong tumugon sa mga emerhensiya katuwang ang iba pang ahensya ng pamahalaan upang masiguro ang kaligtasan ng publiko.

Bandang alas-10 ng umaga noong Mayo 1, 2026, nakatanggap ng ulat ang Sto. Tomas Police Station hinggil sa nasusunog na bahay sa naturang barangay. Agad na rumesponde ang mga pulis kasama ang BFP Sto. Tomas upang apulahin ang apoy at tulungan ang mga residente sa paglikas.

Sa mabilis na pagkilos ng mga rumespondeng awtoridad, napigilan ang pagkalat ng apoy sa mga kalapit na kabahayan. Wala namang naiulat na nasaktan o nasawi, habang patuloy na inaalam ang kabuuang pinsala at sanhi ng insidente.

“Sa oras ng sakuna, ang mabilis na pagtugon ay isang obligasyong hindi dapat naaantala. Nandito ang PNP upang protektahan ang buhay at ari-arian ng ating mga kababayan sa anumang sitwasyon,” ayon kay PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Chief, PNP.

“In every emergency situation, the immediate protection of lives and property remains our top priority,” dagdag pa ni PGEN Nartatez.

Nagpahayag ng pasasalamat ang may-ari ng bahay sa mabilis na pagresponde ng mga awtoridad, na nagsabing bagama’t naapektuhan ang kanilang tahanan, mahalaga ang kaligtasan ng kanilang pamilya.

OVER ₱78-M SMUGGLED CI******ES SEIZED IN 2-DAY DAVAO ORIENTAL OPS; 8 NABBED

A series of anti-smuggling operations by the Philippine National Police (PNP) and partner agencies in Governor Generoso, Davao Oriental resulted in the seizure of over ₱78 million worth of undocumented ci******es and the arrest of eight individuals in two consecutive operations on April 30 and May 1, 2026.

The first operation was conducted on April 30, 2026, following a tip from a barangay official regarding the alleged loading of smuggled ci******es in Barangay Pundaguitan. Acting on the information, a joint team composed of personnel from the local police, CIDG 11, Regional Intelligence Unit 11, Philippine Coast Guard, Armed Forces of the Philippines, NBI 11, and other support units intercepted a wing van truck in the area.

One driver was arrested, and 504 master cases of ci******es were seized, with an estimated value of ₱25.2 million, including the vehicle used in transport.

On May 1, 2026, a follow-up maritime operation was carried out in the seawaters of Governor Generoso through the coordinated efforts of the Regional Maritime Unit 11, Naval Forces Eastern Mindanao, Regional Intelligence Division of PRO 11, and Davao City Police Office.

During a seaborne patrol in the Davao Gulf, authorities intercepted a vessel identified as M/B Bukal after it failed to respond to repeated challenges. A Visit, Board, Search, and Seizure (VBSS) operation led to the arrest of seven individuals, including the boat captain and crew, and the discovery of 1,246 master cases of undocumented ci******es onboard.

Also seized was the motorized vessel used for transport, bringing the total estimated value of confiscated items to ₱52,955,000.00.

All arrested individuals were informed of their constitutional rights and are now under police custody facing charges for violations of relevant laws, including Section 7 of Republic Act 12022 and other applicable provisions on illicit to***co trade.

PNP Chief, Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., highlighted the importance of sustained maritime enforcement and inter-agency cooperation in curbing smuggling activities.

“Sa magkasunod na operasyon na ito, malinaw na hindi tayo tumitigil sa pagbabantay. Kapag may tamang impormasyon at maayos na koordinasyon, napipigilan natin ang malalaking ilegal na aktibidad,” he said.

He added that beyond the seizure, the operation reflects the PNP’s continuing effort to protect lawful trade and public interest. “Hindi lang ito tungkol sa produkto, kundi sa epekto nito sa ekonomiya at sa mamamayan,” he added.

The PNP underscored that the operation supports the national campaign against smuggling under the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., and is in line with the PNP Focused Agenda specifically on Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO).

The PNP reiterated its commitment to strengthen border and coastal security operations in coordination with partner agencies, in line with the national government’s directive to curb smuggling and uphold lawful trade.

PNP, UNIFIED 911 ACT ON TONDO STABBING; SUSPECT FOR FRUSTRATED HOMICIDE ARRESTED

The Philippine National Police, under the leadership of PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., responded to a stabbing incident in Tondo, Manila that led to the arrest of a 43-year-old male suspect for Frustrated Homicide. The operation was triggered by an emergency call received through the Unified 911 system, a public safety mechanism under the Department of the Interior and Local Government led by Secretary Juanito Victor C. Remulla Jr.

Police authorities were alerted at around 1:10 AM on May 2, 2026, after a disturbance was reported along Peñalosa Street, Barangay 60. Responding personnel from Alpha Line Beat 1 of Tayuman P*P, Station 7, Manila Police District immediately proceeded to the area. When they arrived, they found that a stabbing incident had already taken place, and the victim had been brought to a nearby hospital for urgent medical care in a facility equipped for emergency and trauma treatment.

Initial accounts indicated that the victim, a 46-year-old male resident of the barangay who is currently under medication, allegedly approached the suspect during a confrontation. The suspect, a 43-year-old male street sweeper and fellow resident of Barangay 60, then allegedly stabbed the victim once on the lower left side of the chest before leaving the scene. He was later tracked and arrested by responding officers at about 3:20 AM.

The suspect is now in police custody and will face charges for Frustrated Homicide before the Office of the City Prosecutor of Manila.

The PNP said the incident reflects the effectiveness of immediate response and community-based reporting systems, consistent with the PNP Focused Agenda—a transformation framework aimed at strengthening police service delivery. Among its key priorities, Enhanced Managing Police Operations was evident in the rapid dispatch and on-ground response that led to the quick resolution of the incident and arrest of the suspect.

₱11-M ‘PAIHI’ TRADE BUSTED; SUSPECT ARRESTED

A joint police operation led by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in Batangas resulted in the arrest of a suspect involved in the illegal trading and distribution of petroleum products, locally known as “paihi,” on the evening of May 1, 2026.

The operation was carried out at around 9:45 PM in Purok 3, Mataas na Bayan, Lemery, Batangas by personnel of CIDG Batangas Provincial Field Unit, in coordination with the Provincial Intelligence Unit of Batangas Police Provincial Office and Lemery Municipal Police Station.

Authorities arrested a 36-year-old Filipino suspect during the operation. Recovered from his possession were petroleum products, a tanker truck, and related paraphernalia with an estimated value exceeding ₱11 million. The suspect, along with the seized items, was brought to the CIDG Batangas Provincial Field Unit for documentation and appropriate legal proceedings.

This successful operation is part of the Philippine National Police’s intensified efforts to address illegal activities affecting public safety and economic stability. It also supports the ongoing directives of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to ensure lawful business practices and protect consumers, in line with the PNP’s Focused Agenda under Enhanced Managing Police Operations.

PNP CITES PEACEFUL, ORDERLY LABOR DAY CELEBRATION

The Philippine National Police (PNP) reported that the nationwide observance of Labor Day on May 1, 2026 concluded generally peaceful and orderly, following close monitoring of activities across the country, with more than 106,000 police personnel strategically deployed to ensure public safety.

As of 7:00 PM, a total of 58 rallies were monitored, all of which have been completed without any major untoward incidents. Authorities recorded an estimated 13,324 participants who joined various activities nationwide, reflecting active yet manageable public engagement throughout the day.

PNP Chief, Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., said the overall situation reflects strong public cooperation and the professionalism of personnel on the ground.

OVER ₱13.6-M WORTH OF SHABU SEIZED; HIGH-VALUE SUSPECT ARRESTED IN ZAMBOANGA CITY

The Philippine National Police (PNP), through a coordinated multi-agency anti-illegal drugs operation in Zamboanga City, successfully intercepted a substantial quantity of suspected shabu with standard drug price of ₱13.6 million in the early morning of April 30, 2026.

Based on initial reports, operatives implemented the operation at around 7:18 AM along Zone 6, Kalye San Vicente, Barangay Ayala, resulting in the recovery of approximately 2,000 grams of suspected shabu.

A 29-year-old Filipino male, identified as a resident of Barangay Ayala and originally from Jolo, Sulu, was taken into custody during the operation. The individual is currently considered a High-Value Individual in the illegal drug watchlist.

The operation was carried out by joint elements of the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit 9, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 9, Special Enforcement Teams, Naval Intelligence and Security Group – Western Mindanao, PDEG-Special Operations Units 9, 1st Special Operations Unit Maritime Group, 904th Mobile Company RMFB9, Zamboanga City Maritime Police Station, and Zamboanga City Police Station 9, underscoring strengthened inter-agency coordination in addressing illegal drugs at the local level.

Authorities confirmed that the suspect is now under the custody of Zamboanga City Police Station 11 for proper documentation and legal disposition.

₱12-M WORTH OF SMUGGLED CI******ES SEIZED IN DAVAO ORIENTAL OPS

The Philippine National Police (PNP) successfully intercepted smuggled ci******es valued at approximately ₱12 million during a joint law enforcement operation in Governor Generoso, Davao Oriental, in the early hours of May 1, 2026.

Operatives from the Governor Generoso Municipal Police Station, in coordination with the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) 11, Regional Intelligence Unit 11, Provincial Intelligence Unit, the 2nd Davao Oriental Provincial Force Mobile Company, Philippine Army, Philippine Coast Guard, and the National Bureau of Investigation, carried out the operation at around 1:40 AM. The activity led to the apprehension of a 47-year-old Filipino male suspect and the confiscation of assorted smuggled cigarette products.

Initial investigation indicates that the seized items are believed to have been transported and intended for distribution without the necessary permits and tax documentation, a practice that undermines lawful trade and deprives the government of rightful revenues. The suspect is currently under police custody for proper documentation and legal proceedings.
