In a 1985 catalogue (see below) the carpet is referred with question mark to lspaão (= Esfahan) and the reported size is 198 cm x 471 cm.
Robert Ettinghausen (Consultive Chairman of the
Department of Islamic Art at MET and author of the long
preface of the book) noticed that in the center of carpet
there is a small, very well hidden, signature: Shahpasand
(perhaps).
