The Kusudama is an ancient form of art originated in the Heaian Period (794-1192). The Kususduma Flower was believed to ward of illness and disease when hung in a house. It became a custom to give kusudama flowers to ensure good health and happiness of all. In recent times the kusuduma flower has become a beautiful ornament which many decorate their homes with. er model that is usually created by sewing multiple identical pyramidal units together through their points to form a spherical shape. Occasionally, a tassel is attached to the bottom for decoration. The art of making the Kusudama flower is slowly vanishing, which is one of the reasons i decided to learn the intricate origami technique .I would like to promote this ancient art form and would love it to be a part of many homes in Pakistan. I have managed to create beautiful kusuduma balls in different shapes and in an array of colours. I make sure I use good quality paper and mix it with various textured sheets, embellishments, tassels and ornaments. All of these help make the Kusudama truly a statement piece, which will sure grab many compliments hanging in a corner of your home.
