Continuing my notes from Copenhagen...

One of the strongest impressions from this year’s 3daysofdesign was how many brands moved beyond the traditional showroom format and created fully realized living environments instead.

Dusty Deco Dusty Deco explored the dialogue between contemporary design, vintage pieces, and art, creating layered interiors full of character.

RAAW Alchemy RAAW Alchemy reminded us that interiors are experienced through more than just sight. Scent, materiality, and atmosphere became essential parts of the design narrative.

Bang & Olufsen Bang & Olufsen demonstrated how technology can be seamlessly integrated into a home, becoming part of the overall experience rather than a standalone object.

A clear theme throughout the festival was the shift toward more personal, emotional interiors filled with objects that tell a story and create a sense of place.

What stayed with me most from 3daysofdesign was not individual products, but the spaces as a whole. Today’s interiors seem to be moving away from trends and increasingly towards emotion, character, and personal storytelling.

At the beginning of this project, my instinct as a designer was to explore ways of subtly complementing the classical aesthetic with contemporary elements. However, the clients remained very consistent in their vision of a truly classical interior.

This led to an interesting process of working with detail.
Some pieces were selected from existing collections, while others were developed in close collaboration with Alberto Corso, carefully refining both the aesthetic and technical aspects.

This stage unexpectedly reminded me of the early years of my career, when as part of a studio we designed interiors together with Italian craftsmen even before construction began, developing projects down to the smallest details.

Over the years I have worked on projects of very different scales, styles, clients and budgets.

Recently I visited the clients after they had moved in, and found myself particularly drawn to the classical furniture collection by Alberto Corso. .alberto

It reminded me that the strength of classical design lies not only in the beauty of its details, but also in its history, the culture of craftsmanship, and its remarkable timelessness.

At ME Floor, we see the floor as the largest design element in any room, serving as the foundation that either anchors or undermines it.
Let’s look at this recent project designed by By_IDESIGN. Chevron 45° draws the eye towards the light sources and architectural focal points, making rooms feel as if expending.
Every plank is cut at a perfect angle to ensure the "mitered" joints meet flawlessly.
A soft, sophisticated matte protective covering, not a plastic-looking gloss, is provided by UV Silk finish. It feels like natural oil under the feet but offers the industrial-strength protection of a UV-cured lacquer. UV Silk is designed for real life: resists micro-scratches and spills, ensuring your clients' homes look as good in years as they do on day one.

Flooring specification:
Wood Species: White European Oak
Pattern: Chevron 45°
Size: 15/4x120x600 mm
Color: Natural
Finish: UV Silk

“Shibui” — an apartment in Gdańsk, located opposite the historic shipyard.
Minimalism, raw materials, and a refined attention to detail, all shaped by a subtle Japanese sensibility.
This project was both published and printed in several design magazines. Its realization was not without challenges, but I was incredibly fortunate to work with a client who trusted my vision and never questioned the core ideas. I believe he was equally lucky — together we managed to significantly reduce the budget while fully preserving the character and integrity of the interior 🖤.
