New original work is hitting the store next week!

This whole series started because I finally played Minecraft. I know, late to the party, but ohhh, how fun it was! I couldn’t stop thinking about those blocky landscapes. How each biome has its own vibe, its own colors, its own flora and fauna.

That’s how Byte-Sized Biomes was born: four “ecosystems”, nine mini paintings in each. 11x11 cm, wood panels, acrylic paint and mixed media, oak floater frames. Some pieces are abstract, some figurative, built from color, shape, texture, and a little digital noise.

This collection was created through a multi-step process, starting with raw linen canvas. I first applied translucent layers of acrylic paint in various shades of green and blue. Next, I used colored pencils to add lines, simulating the pattern of a plaid flannel shirt. After that, I sealed everything with a layer of clear gesso so I can create the rest of the image with oil paint 🌿
