USM invited us to Münsingen, Switzerland, to take a closer look at the brand’s history and the principles behind the USM Haller system. Its modularity, durability, and capacity for repeated reconfiguration show how sustainability can be embedded in a product from the very beginning.

It is an example of a system designed with longevity and flexibility in mind, one that can continue to evolve as the needs of its users change.

The visit gave us the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of USM, its history, and the design process behind the system, and we truly appreciated the invitation.

Na zaproszenie USM odwiedziliśmy Münsingen w Szwajcarii, aby poznać z bliska historię marki oraz założenia stojące za systemem USM Haller. Jego modułowość, trwałość i możliwość wielokrotnej konfiguracji pokazują, że zrównoważone podejście do projektowania może być wpisane w produkt od samego początku.

To przykład systemu stworzonego z myślą o długim cyklu życia, elastyczności i zmianach zachodzących wraz z potrzebami użytkownika.

A workplace designed around different needs.

The Sanofi office was designed to accommodate different ways of working and the changing rhythms of the workday. The workplace includes areas for focused individual work, meetings, collaboration, relaxation, and activity, allowing employees to choose the setting that best supports their needs at any given moment.

One of the key priorities was ensuring accessibility for people with disabilities. Rather than treating accessibility as an additional layer of the design, we integrated it into the overall concept from the very beginning.

The result is a functional and welcoming work environment that supports focus, collaboration, and employee comfort. The project demonstrates how nature-inspired design, technology, and thoughtful space planning can work together to meet the needs of a modern organization.

Środowisko pracy otwarte na różne potrzeby.

Projekt biura Sanofi uwzględnia różne sposoby pracy oraz zmieniający się rytm dnia. Przestrzeń obejmuje miejsca do pracy indywidualnej w skupieniu, spotkań, współpracy, odpoczynku i aktywności, dzięki czemu pracownicy mogą wybrać strefę najlepiej odpowiadającą ich aktualnym potrzebom.

Jednym z kluczowych założeń była dostępność przestrzeni dla osób z niepełnosprawnościami. Nie została potraktowana jako dodatkowy element projektu, lecz od początku stanowiła integralną część całej koncepcji.

W efekcie powstało funkcjonalne i przyjazne środowisko pracy, które wspiera koncentrację, współpracę oraz komfort pracowników. Projekt pokazuje, jak rozwiązania inspirowane naturą, technologia i świadome planowanie przestrzeni mogą wspólnie odpowiadać na potrzeby współczesnej organizacji.

ESG in workplace design is about much more than environmental solutions.

It is a layered approach that considers the environmental impact of a space, the quality of employees’ everyday experience, and the way the entire design process is managed.

Ergonomics, indoor air quality, access to daylight, greenery, and a variety of work settings are not add-ons. They are essential elements of a well-designed workplace.

A responsible workplace should work well for the organization, the people who use it, and the environment around it.

ESG w projektowaniu miejsc pracy to znacznie więcej niż rozwiązania ekologiczne.

To wielowarstwowe podejście, które obejmuje wpływ przestrzeni na środowisko, jakość codziennego doświadczenia pracowników oraz sposób prowadzenia całego procesu projektowego.

Ergonomia, jakość powietrza, dostęp do światła dziennego, zieleń czy różnorodność miejsc pracy nie są dodatkami. To elementy dobrze zaprojektowanego środowiska pracy.

Bo odpowiedzialne biuro powinno działać dobrze zarówno dla organizacji, ludzi, jak i otoczenia.

A well-designed workplace should support people throughout different stages of the day and respond to different ways of working.

Lighting aligned with natural circadian rhythms, appropriate acoustic conditions, and the ability to choose between spaces for focus, collaboration, and rest all contribute to employee comfort and well-being.

A modern workplace should not impose a single way of working. It should offer choice.

Dobrze zaprojektowane środowisko pracy powinno wspierać ludzi na różnych etapach dnia i odpowiadać na różne sposoby pracy.

Oświetlenie dostosowane do naturalnego rytmu dobowego, odpowiednia akustyka oraz możliwość wyboru między strefami skupienia, współpracy i odpoczynku wpływają na komfort i dobrostan pracowników.

Bo współczesne biuro nie powinno narzucać jednego sposobu pracy. Powinno dawać wybór.

Sustainability is not an addition to architecture. It should be part of its DNA.

At the CEE fund’s Warsaw headquarters, this is reflected in design decisions rather than declarations: durable solutions, responsible material selection, access to daylight, acoustic comfort, and a genuine variety of work settings.

ESG in workplace design is not only about certifications - it is about creating spaces that support well-being, encourage interaction, and use resources responsibly. The result is an office designed not only to work well today, but to remain relevant for years to come.

Zrównoważony rozwój nie powinien być dodatkiem do architektury. Powinien być wpisany w jej DNA.

W warszawskiej siedzibie funduszu działającego w Europie Środkowo-Wschodniej widać to przede wszystkim w decyzjach projektowych, a nie deklaracjach: trwałych rozwiązaniach, odpowiedzialnym doborze materiałów, dostępie do światła dziennego, komforcie akustycznym oraz zróżnicowanych przestrzeniach odpowiadających na różne sposoby pracy.

ESG w projektowaniu miejsc pracy to nie tylko certyfikaty - to przede wszystkim tworzenie przestrzeni, które wspierają dobrostan użytkowników, sprzyjają interakcjom i pozwalają odpowiedzialnie gospodarować zasobami. Efektem jest biuro zaprojektowane nie tylko z myślą o dzisiejszych potrzebach, ale również tak, aby pozostało funkcjonalne i aktualne przez kolejne lata.

The Warsaw office of The Magnum Ice Cream Company, designed by The Design Group, has been featured by the editors of Design Alive, a magazine that has long showcased some of the most notable Polish projects in architecture, interiors, and design.

The starting point for the project was the concept of Serious Playfulness, combining the professional character of the workplace with the lightness and energy of the brand. Rather than relying on literal references, the brand identity was translated into architecture through color, form, materials, and light. The interior was designed as a sequence of experiences, from the calm reception area to more expressive meeting spaces, the Town Hall, and everyday work settings.

This recognition from Design Alive confirms that the project has been appreciated not only by the client, but also by the wider design community.

The project was developed by The Design Group team: Konrad Krusiewicz, Marta Konarska-Smykiewicz, and Ewelina Mężyńska.

Projekt warszawskiego biura The Magnum Ice Cream Company autorstwa The Design Group został wyróżniony przez redakcję Design Alive - magazynu, który od lat prezentuje najciekawsze polskie realizacje z obszaru architektury, wnętrz i designu.

Punktem wyjścia dla projektu była koncepcja Serious Playfulness, łącząca profesjonalny charakter miejsca pracy z lekkością i energią marki. Zamiast dosłownych odniesień, jej tożsamość została przełożona na architekturę poprzez kolor, formę, materiały i światło. Wnętrze zaprojektowano jako sekwencję doświadczeń, od spokojnej recepcji po bardziej wyraziste strefy spotkań, Town Hall i codzienne miejsca pracy.

Wyróżnienie w Design Alive jest dla pracowni potwierdzeniem, że projekt został doceniony nie tylko przez klienta, ale również przez środowisko projektowe.

Za projekt odpowiadał zespół The Design Group w składzie: Konrad Krusiewicz, Marta Konarska-Smykiewicz oraz Ewelina Mężyńska.

The Design Group has been named a Gold Winner at the 2026 MUSE Design Awards for the Warsaw office of The Magnum Ice Cream Company in the Interior Design: Office category.

The award-winning project was developed around the concept of Serious Playfulness, translating the character of the brand into architecture through color, light, materials, form, and the way the space is experienced. The design brings together a distinctive brand identity and the functionality of a contemporary workplace, creating an interior where branding becomes an integral part of the architecture.

This year’s Season 2 competition received more than 9,000 entries from around the world, evaluated by an international jury of industry experts.

This recognition is an important acknowledgment of the quality of our team’s work and of our approach to designing spaces for global brands.

The Design Group zdobyło tytuł Gold Winner w MUSE Design Awards 2026 za projekt warszawskiego biura The Magnum Ice Cream Company w kategorii Interior Design: Office.

Nagrodzona realizacja powstała w oparciu o koncepcję Serious Playfulness, która przekłada charakter marki na architekturę poprzez kolor, światło, materiały, formę i sposób doświadczania przestrzeni. Projekt łączy wyrazistą tożsamość z funkcjonalnością współczesnego środowiska pracy, tworząc wnętrze, w którym branding staje się integralną częścią architektury.

W tegorocznej edycji Season 2 do konkursu zgłoszono ponad 9 000 projektów z całego świata, ocenianych przez międzynarodowe jury ekspertów.
