“Beauty knows no borders. Beauty is where heart and heart meet. It is where human happiness mingles, where you can hear voices speaking in friendly tones. Art connects one heart with another; it is a meeting place of love. Art knows no conflict; it makes us forget our petty selves. It is where we make our home in the heart of others. Beauty is love.”

“If life and beauty are treated as belonging to different realms, our aesthetic sensibilities will gradually wither and decline.… “

… In love with clay, in love with silence. My journey with pottery deepened in Japan, where I had the privilege of learning from master potters who carry centuries of knowledge in their hands. Every piece I make today holds a trace of those moments … of earth, fire, and quiet discipline.

Collaborating on the creation of Den Mashiko has been a beautiful journey of discovering the connection between interiors, nature, and the surrounding landscape. In Japan, nature becomes part of the space itself through light, textures, silence, and simplicity.

Working here has been an inspiring experience, building bridges with a new culture and embracing the quiet beauty of Japanese aesthetics.

Discovering the quiet beauty of Tochigi, where rice fields, forests, and pottery towns unfold at a gentle pace….
DEN Mashiko is the perfect base to explore this lesser-known side of Japan … from artisan studios and rural landscapes to seasonal flowers and coastal escapes.

DEN Mashiko

Just a short drive away, Hitachi Seaside Park offers a completely different scenery, with rolling hills of blooms and wide open skies. After a day of exploring, return to the calm simplicity of DEN Mashiko, where the peaceful surroundings continue to shape the experience.
A slower Japan, rooted in nature, craft, and quiet discovery.
