Art by Lis Gonçalves Portuguese artist who creates colourful work inspired by nature. Her products include original paintings in acrylic and fine art prints signed by herself.

I am a self-taught portuguese artist born in South Africa. I have always shown an interest in the diversity of cultures and traditions that surrounded me. The free use of color caracterizes my work and it is the way I represent and celebrate the diversity that characterizes our world. My work has a nostalgic feeling to it. I try to get involved in the artistic process in the same way that a child

sits down to draw: with the espectation of putting dreams on paper and drawing the world that child would like to see. Sou uma artista autodidata e linguista de formação. Natural da África do Sul e portuguesa de nacionalidade, desde sempre mostrei um interesse pela diversidade de culturas e tradições que me rodeavam. O uso livre da cor, aspeto característico da minha obra, é uma forma de representar e festejar essa diversidade que carateriza o nosso mundo. O meu trabalho tem um caráter nostálgico. Nele, procuro envolver-me no processo artístico da mesma forma que uma criança se senta para desenhar: com a expetativa de colocar em papel os sonhos e desenhar o mundo como ela gostaria de o ver.
