W**e. Clay. Stories!
W**e and clay have more in common than you might think. Both begin with the earth.
One you drink.
The other you shape.
On 24 October, we’re bringing them together for an evening of w**e, ceramics, and a few good stories.
Taste Vinho Verde w**es while making a ceramic serving platter shaped like a w**e bottle. The kind of piece that makes someone ask, “Where did you get that?”
Alexander Cornejo, w**emaker and Director at the Vinho Verde Commission, will tell us the stories behind the w**es.
Tatiana Manakova, founder of Terra Magic Ceramic, believes every handmade piece tells the story of its maker. In her studio, mistakes are part of the process. Sometimes they turn out to be the best part.
You’ll probably make a mistake.
We’ll figure it out together.
And somewhere around the second glass, you might stop caring whether everything looks perfect.
We’ll glaze and fire your piece, and you can collect it a few weeks later.
You’ll leave with a story. And eventually, a platter to serve it on.
