March 1st is approaching, which in Romania is celebrated as Mărțișor Day, a symbol of spring. Originally, it consisted of wearing a bracelet made of two twisted threads, white and red. Over time, the Mărțișor became a small object, a brooch, with this thread attached. It has taken many creative forms made of clay or metal: snowdrops, chimney sweeps, clovers, and countless other inventions. So I have made a few insects and bugs—small heralds of light and stirrers of life on earth—beautiful symbols of the arrival of spring.
