Putney Project | Lounge Joinery Design

A closer look at the bespoke alcove joinery designed for the lounge within our Putney project.

Positioned around the existing fireplace, the design combines painted cabinetry, natural oak interiors, integrated lighting, curved detailing, and concealed storage to create something that feels warm, timeless, and fully integrated with the room.

One of the most rewarding parts of the process is seeing a design move from initial concept through to the completed installation and watching the original vision fully come to life.

The construction phase is often where homeowners feel the most overwhelmed.

Once work begins on site, there are constant decisions, questions, moving parts, and unexpected situations that need coordinating clearly and quickly.

This is where our role becomes especially valuable.

We work closely with contractors, suppliers, and trades throughout the project to ensure the design is implemented properly, details are carefully resolved, and the overall vision for the home remains consistent from start to finish.

Regular site visits and ongoing coordination help bring structure, clarity, and reassurance throughout what can otherwise feel like a very stressful stage of a renovation.

Putney Project | Ground Floor WC Transformation ✨

A look at the before, design concept, and current construction progress of the ground floor WC within our Putney project.

Although compact in size, this space required a considered approach to completely shift how it felt. The original room felt dark and visually overwhelming, so the design focused on creating a calmer, softer, and more refined atmosphere through texture, lighting, materiality, and bespoke detailing.

The concept combines limewash finishes, warm timber tones, brushed brass accents, and integrated lighting to create a space that feels understated and timeless.

It’s always rewarding seeing the transition from initial concept visuals to the reality beginning to take shape on site.

Putney Project Site Visit | What happens during a site visit?

People often think interior design happens behind a screen, but some of the most important decisions happen on site.

Site visits are where we review progress, coordinate with contractors, resolve details in real time, and ensure the design is being carried through as intended.

We check layouts, proportions, finishes, lighting positions, joinery details, material samples, and how different elements are coming together within the space. It’s also where conversations happen that can prevent costly mistakes or delays later on.

Good site coordination keeps a project aligned, organised and moving forward clearly. It helps ensure that the finished home not only looks cohesive, but functions exactly as it should in daily life.

This stage is a key part of our full-service approach and one of the ways we help make complex renovations feel more manageable for our clients.
