A client approached me looking to transform their primary bedroom into a refined, art-forward sanctuary, one that felt luxurious yet deeply personal. As an avid reader, they dreamed of a bedroom that could double as a quiet retreat, with dedicated space for their growing book collection and a cozy spot to unwind with a novel at the end of the day.
From our first conversation, the client expressed their love for bold, expressive art paired with soft, sculptural forms. They wanted the space to feel unique and intimate, with warm tones, layered textures, and curated pieces that tell a story. The design direction centered around rich, deep reds balanced with soft neutrals to maintain both drama and serenity.
The hand-painted mural became the artistic anchor of the room, bringing movement and personality to the space. Its organic lines inspired the flowing silhouettes of the furniture and the overall rhythm of the design.
To support the client’s passion for reading, we designed custom built-in shelving, softly illuminated to highlight their book collection and favorite objects. Paired with sculptural armchairs, this corner became their personal library nook, inviting, warm, and intentionally placed near natural light.
