Another week, another workshop! 🌊🎶♻️
These past two days have been filled with joy, new ideas, new experiences, and meeting so many amazing people, especially the inspiring and creative kids who joined us.
One thing I always tell the parents of my young students is: let them draw and paint from their imagination. There is no reason why, as adults, so many of us lose our creative thinking. Somewhere along the way, we grow up and stop nurturing that creative side of our minds and, little by little, it gets forgotten.
These workshops are a beautiful example of how naturally children think outside the box. They create, experiment, imagine, and find possibilities where we might not see them.
Hats off to communities and organisations Västerhavsveckan and Maryam Javidmehr for making this events happen and make sure children from all around the city have the opportunity to take part, explore their creativity, and create memories that will stay with them throughout their childhood. These experiences matter. Every little step counts.
In this workshop, we created all sorts of musical instruments using recycled materials collected from the sea and from our surroundings. We gave discarded materials a new purpose and a new sound.
Along the way, the children learned that we shouldn’t simply throw rubbish away, but instead put it in the right place so it can be recycled and handled in the most environmentally friendly way.
And the best part? They got to learn all of this through play, creativity and music and each child went home with a little instrument they had designed and built themselves. 🎶♻️
A little creativity, a little imagination, and a lot of fun every little step makes a difference.
