Our Story
It all started with me wanting something personal decorating my walls at home. Springing from the mythical Scandinavian forests of Hälsingland, I’ve grown up where crafting has had an natural part of everyday life, and where each and every home had an embroidered wall hanging made with pride and love. I couldn’t think of anything more appropriate to symbolise me and my heritage better than to have some folk tradition decorating the walls of my city apartment.
The problem began when I decided to create a embroidered wall hanging with a modern touch – it was harder than I thought. That was when that little seed, that later became The Folklore Company, was planted.
We want to take the embroidery into the 21st century, preserve traditions and attract new generations! Sew it yourself – you love it!
