Who says a bank has to feel stiff and formal?

We’ve been bringing hotel lounge vibes to Sparbanken branches for years now. Cozy seating, soft shapes, inviting café areas and a warm atmosphere that makes people feel right at home. Seven or eight branches later, we’re still loving it! Every space has its own personality, every project brings new creative challenges, and the teamwork makes it even more fun.

Same welcoming concept. A unique twist every time!

What happens after opening?

That’s when a place really starts to live. Guests arrive, rooms are used, restaurants fill up – and suddenly you see what works, what needs a little attention and what could be developed next.

For us, finishing a project doesn’t necessarily mean saying goodbye. We like to stay close, follow how the spaces evolve and be there for the next step.

Because great places are made to be used. And used. And used again. 😊

For me, plant design is about bringing people closer to nature. 🌿

At Strand Öland, I’ve used plants to shape the terrace, create privacy and make greenery part of the guest experience. I want the planting to feel as though it grew there naturally – even though every choice has been carefully considered.

What does it take to make a destination worth the journey?

At Strand Öland, the ambition went far beyond renovating a hotel. We wanted to build on the sea, the light, the location and the history – and create more reasons to come, stay and return. All year round.

Because when design helps a destination attract more guests, more often, it becomes an investment in the business.

3D models make it possible to experience a future building with true proportions, realistic daylight, spatial flow, and atmosphere. This level of clarity helps clients understand the design as it will actually feel in real life, reducing the risk of approving something they later regret because the scale or layout was misunderstood.

By creating realistic renderings, we can also test how materials interact—how textures meet, how colors behave under different lighting conditions, and how construction details connect. This allows design decisions to be evaluated visually and technically before anything is built.

These digital visualisations then become a practical guide for the construction team. They serve as a clear framework that translates the concept into a shared visual reference on site, helping builders understand the intended design and execute it with greater accuracy.

Two very different W8 projects.

🏆🏆 Two nominations in the 2026 World Luxury Awards.

Hotel Onyxen is nominated in the World Luxury Hotel Awards, while Hagabadet Haga is nominated in the World Luxury Spa Awards.

But what do these two very different places have in common?

“For me, it’s about finding the unique identity and atmosphere of a place and making it stronger.” says Nina.

Colour, materials, furniture, lighting and details all play their part. But ultimately, it’s about creating a place with a distinct personality.

That’s when great hospitality design becomes something more – a place with an identity so strong it couldn’t be mistaken for anywhere else.

We’re delighted about both nominations and proud to have been part of creating these environments.

What is great design worth to a hotel?

More than you might think.

Great hotel design shapes how a place feels, what guests remember — and why they want to return.

“For me, it starts with understanding what the place should be, who it is for and how we want it to feel. Then that idea has to carry all the way from concept to materials, lighting, colour and details,” says Fredrik.

At its best, design becomes part of the hotel’s identity and adds value to the entire guest experience.

“…and that’s when great design becomes a great investment,” Johan concludes.
