Congratulations to Marlene on the soft opening of Illumination Books Connection today! 🥳

If you’ve kept up with my stories, you’ll know that my husband and I have been helping Marlene put together her bookstore for a few weeks now.

I’ve gotten a close and personal look at what she is selling there, and I am so excited to go back as one of her first customers.

Additionally, she hired me to do some signage, paint the windows, and sell some of my art (and upcoming holiday cards!) there.

As a hint to what my first purchase will be, I’ll just say that Illumination Books Connection will Live Long And Prosper 🖖🏽

As Halloween approaches, I wanted to share some prints and originals I have made for Motor City Nightmares.

Though my website will soon be live, I haven’t uploaded these there yet. So if you want to snag ‘em, the best way to reach me is email/DM!

I’ve been really in the mood to make more autumnal/horror art. Anywhere from cutesy vintage Halloween cards to recreating The Nun from The Conjuring II. I even have glow-in-the-dark paint waiting to be used.

I was once even asked to do a scary family portrait. Each member was depicted as the urban legend they resonated most with. It was so fun.

I’ve been wrapped up in commissions, but I always leave open availability for more. If you’ve got room for a spooky idea, hit me up!

If you see me in public
I’m probably doing this—

standing a little too close to the water
watching the surface move
listening to that quiet, steady rhythm.

oceans, lakes, rivers, fountains in the middle of cities…
it doesn’t really matter.

I collect small moments with water
the way some people collect souvenirs.

the light moving.
the reflections shifting.
the sound of it arriving and leaving.

maybe it’s an artist thing.

if you love noticing small moments like this,
you’ll probably feel at home here. 🌊

Ahsoka is the one for me, across all time, across all galaxies.

I could write an entire dissertation about why she is the best character, but this is what I’ll say for now:

I’ve been thinking about what I want to paint more of. Star Wars keeps calling. So does Marvel. So does Indiana Jones. So does Game Of Thrones. So does The Witcher. So does Star Trek. Especially Star Trek.

Not because commissions aren’t meaningful—but because I want to make room for the moments that pull at me without asking. The moments I can’t get off of my mind. I find so much inspiration in music, movies, and TV series. It becomes part of me.

Ahsoka lives in me. I am no Jedi, either.

I think there’s space for both what I want to paint and what others have asked me to paint.

I know for a fact, some of the paintings I have in mind would resonate with YOUR favorite characters across fandoms, too.

if you’ve been feeling that pull too— tell me.
I’d love to create something for you, or alongside you. If nothing else, we probably have the same idea anyway.
