Here is the story behind them 👉🏽 At Norra Bantorget, the magnificent entertainment palace Vinterpalatset once lit up life, with crystal chandeliers sparkling above magical film screenings and legendary dance nights until its demolition in 1978. The story behind the three colors named Makalös in our new Historiska Hem Collection:

By Kungsträdgården in the 17th century stood De la Gardie’s fabulous palace Makalös—a dream so magnificent that contemporaries could hardly believe their eyes before it was consumed by a dramatic fire in 1825. In this color palette, sophisticated beige tones—inspired by the façade’s sandstone sculptures—meet a deep, muted green shade. Together, they weave an environment rich in beautiful depth.

The three blue colors in Historiska Hem Collection are named after the classic summer restaurant Lindgården located on Djurgården until its demolition in 2011. These cool, blue-toned shades evoke memories of the shade beneath the tree canopies and the fresh breeze from Djurgårdsbrunnsviken. They are cooling colors that lend the room a peaceful, harmonious atmosphere in which to unwind.

Eldkvarn 03, from our new Historiska Hem Collection, captures the rich hue of the colossal steam-powered mill that once reflected its heavy brickwork in the waters of Riddarfjärden. When the stately Eldkvarn
building burned down in 1878, it left behind
an indelible mark on the cityscape. The color
fills the home with a burnt, copper-toned
light that creates genuine depth—looking
especially beautiful alongside stone and
natural wood.

New Launch – Historiska Hem Color Collection. Inspired by Stockholm’s colorful history and the beautiful homes Historiska Hem has represented over the years. A palette of 18 colors that moves seamlessly between tradition and contemporary shades, designed to harmonize across walls, ceilings and woodwork. First up is Holländskan 05, named after the stately Holländskan windmill that stood on the heights of Götgatan until 1894. This mossy, greenish-brown hue draws its character from the patina of aged wood and the passage of time. Holländskan 05 evokes images of tarred beams and rustic craftsmanship—a reassuring shade that lends the room a sense of substance and grounded calm.

The Tones art rug collection is a series of hand-tufted rugs suitable for both wall mounting and floor use. The pieces in the collection explore the interplay between color and material and can be paired with matching wall paint from our palettes. The rugs are handcrafted from honest materials that have undergone rigorous quality control. Only sustainable raw materials—such as fine wool, coarse viscose derived from certified eucalyptus, and 100% recycled Econyl—are used in their production. The rugs are handmade to order.
