JShi Ceramics

JShi Ceramics JShi Ceramics is a hobby business, run by Jenney Shi, selling unique handmade ceramics 🌿 I hope you love my products as much as I love the process!

My name is Jenney; I work as a product designer during the day and in my spare time, I produce small batches of handmade ceramics. I'm originally from Vancouver, Canada, but for now, Stockholm, Sweden is my home 🧡 – along with my partner Oliver and our baby Shiba Inu, Lando đŸ¶. I started working with ceramics after searching for a creative outlet to unwind from my day job. I immediately fell in lov

e with pottery: it allows me to create something tangible and physical, and within the clay, there are endless possibilities. It also teaches me patience and resilience, as more often than not, my pieces don't make it to the end. I’m still very much a beginner and have a long way to go, but each time I sit down at the wheel or make something hand-built at the studio, I learn something new!

Sunshine and blue sky! We're hitting spring season full on Stockholm this week âœšđŸŒ».

This glaze is one of those love and hate relationships. I actually fired this twice. The first time (I guess??) the application wasn't thick enough and came out in this very ugly brown – even though I felt like I really laid it on thick.

So I layered on another thick one and in it goes đŸ”„. And..I don't hate this! What do you think?

Less than a week before I hit the road and head to in Malmö ✹👏.

I've been stocking up on these cups in anticipation. It's also going to be the first time they're on sale in a market 😬, so let's see what will happen!

So..I didn't set out to make a donut vase. This was a big trend a few years ago and I remember Designtorget had something similar and I thought at the time..this is kind of stupid 😂.

Fast forward to earlier this year, when I was throwing a mug and I opened too deep and accidentally went all the way to the bottom. Rather than scrapping and starting over, I decided to keep going. And somehow ended up with this.

And... I have to admit, I see the appeal now 😄.
