Olof Skötkonung meets Torgny Lagman at the Uppsala Assembly. Provenance: formerly in the collection of the author Charlotte af Tibell, later in the possession of Magistrate Ernst Löwenhielm. In 1940, experts at the Nationalmuseum attributed the painting to Per Emanuel Limnell and dated it to the early nineteenth century.

In all my years, I had never come across this particular model of chandelier. It is an exceptionally large and extraordinarily high-quality late Gustavian style chandelier, complete with every conceivable embellishment. Yet, within the space of just one month, I was presented with the opportunity to acquire two of them from entirely different corners of the Nordic region—one from a grand apartment in Helsinki, and the other from the distinguished Professor’s Quarter in Lund. It is truly wonderful to be able to offer these stunning beauties, each over a century old, as a matching pair.
