When Asturias started making Rosettes, people said "Badges are no longer trendy anymore." And they said that folks don't collect Badges anymore. However, when Asturias started Boothing, people got excited and said "Now I want to have an ItaBag and start collecting Badges!"
What does this little anecdote show?
It is quite impossible to catch up with trends which comes and go all the time. But what we can do is to be a trendsetter by not following the crowd. Sometimes, doing your own things, and listening to your heart will allow you to become the voice which stands out among the cacophony of the world.
Lately, a friend confided in being judged for building a Birthday Shrine for her favourite character. The Judge was a fellow Merch Collector. Life is hard even without Judges passing verdicts on everyone. Life is beautiful and is supposed to be!
Every 2D Husbando or Waifu or anime character and the likes are the laboured creations of Professional Artists, Character Designers, Brilliant Writers, Artistic Directors and entire team of staff who put in their heart and soul to present them to the world. (It's no secret that many creators worked hard to bring characters to life under horrible working conditions.) These Characters were created to delight and bring joy to thousands if not millions. Why then, should the celebration of these Characters' Birthdays not be a celebration of life?
