Choosing tiles for your Singapore home isn’t as simple as picking the colour you like most.
Ceramic, porcelain and homogeneous tiles all have different characteristics, and the right choice depends on where the tile is being used, how the space will be maintained, your budget and the overall design direction.
Then there’s tile size. A large-format tile can give you that clean, seamless look with fewer grout lines.
But in wet areas like bathrooms, we also need to think about floor falls and drainage. Smaller tiles can give us more flexibility when forming the required gradient towards the floor trap.
This is why we don’t select tiles based on aesthetics alone.
The tile needs to look good, perform well and make sense for the space.
If you’re planning a HDB, condo or landed home renovation in Singapore, these are the details worth thinking about before you start choosing finishes.
At Couple Abode, we approach residential interior design with both aesthetics and construction in mind - because a beautiful home should work just as well as it looks.
