In Part 2, we step into Khalifie’s kitchen, master bedroom, and walk-in wardrobe to discover how these spaces were designed around the daily needs of his family.

What we loved most was seeing how every design decision had a purpose. From the layout to the storage solutions, it became clear that this home was not just designed to look good, it was designed to support the way the family lives, rests, and spends time together.

And yes, even after 90 seconds of questions in Part 1, Chef somehow still had another 100 seconds’ worth of questions. But we are glad he did, because many of the details we were curious about finally got answered!

You have seen our Designer Khalifie’s home in photos (and maybe caught a few Instagram Stories!) over the past week. Now it us time to hear the stories behind the design.

Join Chef as he takes us on a tour of this beautifully designed 5-room HDB resale apartment and gets Khalifie to spill all the details behind the decisions that shaped his home.

Why is a chef doing a house tour? Because he talks a lot, asks all the questions we want answered, and somehow managed to get every little detail out of Khalifie. In fact, they talked so much that we had to split the tour into two parts.

From clever space planning to thoughtful design touches, every corner of this home was carefully considered to balance functionality and aesthetics. There’s plenty to discover, and even more inspiration to take away for your own home.

When it comes to the bathrooms, our Designer, Khalifie, curated two distinct moods for the home. The master bathroom embraces a darker, more luxurious palette, creating a hotel-inspired retreat, while the common bathroom features a lighter and airier design that feels fresh and inviting.

Matte-finish tiles were carefully selected not only for their elegant appearance but also for their ease of maintenance. Paired with large-format textured tiles, the bathrooms take on a natural, sophisticated character that adds depth and visual interest without overwhelming the space.

Completing the look are the integrated sinks in both bathrooms, bringing a sleek, modern minimalist touch that elevates the overall design and lends a refined sense of luxury to the space.

When it came to the master bedroom, Khalifie believed that simplicity and comfort should take centre stage. His decision to combine the original master bedroom with one common room proved to be a transformative one, creating an expansive retreat complete with a walk-in wardrobe and a beautifully connected en suite bathroom.

The bed sits perfectly centred beneath the window, establishing a sense of calm symmetry while allowing the space to bask in natural light each morning. As the sun begins to set, the Venetian blinds cast soft, romantic shadows across the room, creating an atmosphere that feels both intimate and serene.

Beyond aesthetics, the layout was also carefully considered around family life.

For Khalifie, the openness of the space allows him to rest comfortably while still keeping an eye on his children as they play around the walk-in wardrobe area. Safe, visible, and always within reach. The wardrobe itself was thoughtfully designed with generous storage, easy access to the bathroom, and a vanity positioned by the window to make full use of natural light.

Once again, Khalifie’s home beautifully demonstrates that functionality and aesthetics need not compete. When thoughtfully balanced, they come together to create a home that is not only beautiful, but truly made for living.

Step into our Designer Khalifie’s home and your eyes are immediately drawn beyond the living room to a kitchen that effortlessly commands attention. Rich veining, warm earthy tones, and clean architectural lines come together in a space that strikes the perfect balance between drama and restraint.

“I wanted to go bold with the veining and take full advantage of the open-concept kitchen to create a luxurious focal point that adds character and makes a statement within the home,” Khalifie shares.

And a statement it certainly makes.

What we particularly admire is the thoughtful restraint shown in the surrounding carpentry. Designed with sleek, uninterrupted surfaces and free from visible metal hardware, the cabinetry quietly steps back, allowing the beauty of the marble-inspired veining across the backsplash and countertop to take centre stage.

Beyond aesthetics, the open-concept layout also reflects the way the family lives.

“As for maintenance, an open-concept kitchen is very manageable, especially when paired with a good air purifier. I personally love it because it allows me to see the entire home at a glance. Conversations flow more naturally, and of course, I always know when my kids are sneaking to the fridge for a snack,” Khalifie laughs.

A home should be beautiful, but it should also support the moments that matter most. In Khalifie’s home, thoughtful design, functionality, and family life come together seamlessly. And to us, that is perhaps the greatest luxury of all.

This beautiful home belongs to our Designer, Khalifie. A cosy sanctuary where soft curves, clean lines, and limewashed walls come together to create an organic aesthetic full of warmth and character.

When asked about the inspiration behind his home, Khalifie shared, “I wanted a cosy space that captures the feeling of a sunset. That was why I incorporated wall lights and floor lamps throughout the home.”

And he certainly achieved it. The moment we stepped inside, the ambience felt warm, calming, and incredibly inviting.

He added, “Apart from the cosy lighting, I also love the curved sofa that anchors the living space while softening the rigid lines created by the wall corners.”

Every detail in this 5-room HDB resale apartment reflects Khalifie’s thoughtful approach to design, He balanced comfort, function, and personality in a way that feels effortlessly lived-in.

We also wanted to show you how we reconfigured the layout of this home to accommodate a helper’s room with a functional Murphy bed.

What was originally a bathroom was thoughtfully transformed into a compact yet practical space that now houses the helper’s room, complete with storage solutions and a dedicated laundry area.

In the kitchen, we introduced additional storage that blends seamlessly with the existing cabinetry provided by the developer, creating a cohesive and highly functional space.
