“ข่าม” ความเชื่อที่ถูกทอไว้ในผืนผ้า

เสื้อคลุมตัวนี้เริ่มจากผ้าฝ้ายทอมือ
ค่อยๆ สร้างจากเส้นใยฝ้ายเข็นมือทีละเส้น
ย้อมด้วยสีธรรมชาติจาก “เปลือกไม้ประดู่ป่า” ในจังหวัดน่าน

ต้นประดู่ป่าเติบโตลึกในผืนป่า แข็งแรง เงียบสงบ และอยู่กับธรรมชาติมาอย่างยาวนาน การได้มาของสีไม่ได้เกิดจากการโค่นต้นไม้ แต่เป็นเพียงการถากเปลือกชั้นนอกมาใช้ สะท้อนถึงความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างคนกับป่า ที่ยังคงอยู่ร่วมกันได้อย่างสมดุล สีที่ได้จึงไม่ใช่แค่โทนน้ำตาลอบอุ่น แต่มีความนิ่ง ลึก และหนักแน่น ราวกับเก็บเอาเวลาและความทรงจำของป่าไว้ในเนื้อผ้า

ด้านหลังของเสื้อเลือกวางคำว่า “ข่าม” ในภาษาล้านนา “ข่าม” คือความเชื่อเรื่องการปกป้อง ความคงกระพัน หรือพลังที่ทำให้เรารู้สึกมั่นคง แต่ในอีกมุมหนึ่ง มันยังสะท้อนถึงความนิ่ง ความหนักแน่น และความเชื่อมั่นภายในตัวเอง

ตัวอักษรถูกสร้างจากเศษผ้าฝ้ายทอมือ ที่เหลือจากการตัดเย็บ นำมาต่อเป็นงาน patchwork ทีละชิ้น เพื่อสร้างความหมายใหม่ให้กับสิ่งที่เคยถูกมองข้าม ทั้งช่วยลดขยะ และเพิ่มเรื่องราวให้กับผืนผ้า

เสื้อตัวนี้ไม่ได้บอกว่าใส่แล้วจะคงกระพัน แต่มันกำลังเล่าถึงความเชื่อ ของ "คนกับป่า" ของภาษากับตัวตน เป็นงานที่รวมเอา วัสดุธรรมชาติและความหมาย ไว้ด้วยกันอย่างเรียบง่าย และทิ้งบางอย่างไว้ให้เรารู้สึก มากกว่าที่จะอธิบาย 🌿

“Kham” Belief woven into cloth

This jacket begins with handwoven cotton, made from hand-spun threads and dyed with natural color from wild Pradu tree bark in Nan.

The bark is gently taken without cutting the tree, reflecting a quiet balance between people and the forest.
The color holds a calm, earthy depth like carrying the memory of the forest within the fabric.

On the back, the word “Kham” is placed.
In Lanna culture, it speaks of protection not just in a mystical way, but as a sense of inner strength, calm, and grounding.
The letters are created from leftover handwoven fabric, stitched together in patchwork bringing new meaning to what might have been left behind, while also reducing waste.

This piece doesn’t promise protection.
It simply reflects a belief between people and nature, language and identity.
Something to wear, and slowly feel. 🌿

P.S. This piece is still in its final stage, the fabric marking pen has not been removed yet.

“หมาน” เมื่อความเชื่อในวันวาน กลายเป็นงานศิลปะบนผืนผ้า 🍀

จุดเริ่มต้นของเสื้อคลุมยูกาตะตัวนี้คือ “ฮ่อม” สีครามธรรมชาติที่เป็นมากกว่าแค่เม็ดสี แต่มันคือดัชนีชี้วัดความอุดมสมบูรณ์ของป่าไม้เมืองน่าน เพราะยิ่งป่าดี ห้อมจะยิ่งให้สีที่นิ่ง ลึก และมีชีวิตชีวา

ผืนผ้าถูกบรรจงทอด้วยลาย “เกล็ดเต่า” ลายโบราณที่สื่อถึงความแข็งแกร่ง การปกป้อง และความยั่งยืน ก่อนจะวางองค์ประกอบสำคัญไว้ที่ด้านหลัง ด้วยคำว่า “หมาน” ในภาษาล้านนา

“หมาน” ไม่ได้หมายถึงเพียงโชคลาภที่เกิดขึ้นโดยบังเอิญ แต่มันคือ จังหวะชีวิต
คือ ความเป็นใจของธรรมชาติ
ช่วงเวลาที่ทุกอย่างค่อยๆ คลี่คลาย และลงตัวอย่างพอดี

คำนี้ถูกปักด้วย “ด้ายใยกัญชง” สร้างพื้นผิวที่คล้าย “ตาข่าย” ในอีกมิติหนึ่ง ตาข่ายนี้ไม่ได้มีไว้เพื่อดักจับสิ่งที่จับต้องได้ แต่เปรียบเสมือนการ ดักจับพลังงานดีๆ โอกาส และความเป็นไปได้ที่งดงามของชีวิต

Srimorn ไม่ได้สัญญาว่าผู้สวมใส่เสื้อตัวนี้จะโชคดีในทันที แต่มันคือการหยิบเอาความลึกซึ้งของผืนป่า ความหมายของภาษา และจิตวิญญาณของล้านนา
มาเล่าใหม่ในรูปแบบที่เรียบง่าย และสะท้อนถึงความหมายอันเล้นลับที่ถูกซ่อนเอาไว้ แบบมีชั้นเชิง

“Maan” Beliefs become textile art 🍀

This yukata-style jacket started with indigo. Not just as a color, but as something that reflects the richness of Nan’s forests.

The healthier the forest, the deeper, calmer, and more alive the indigo becomes.
The fabric is handwoven in a traditional turtle shell pattern a motif that speaks of strength, protection, and longevity.

At the back, we placed the word “Maan.”
In Lanna culture, Maan isn’t just about luck. It’s more about a flow in life a sense of timing, a quiet feeling that things are falling into place, that nature is somehow on your side.

The word is embroidered using h**p threads, creating a texture that feels like a net. But this net isn’t meant to catch anything physical. It’s more like a way of holding onto good energy, openness, and the kind of possibilities we hope to grow into.

This piece doesn’t promise luck or fortune.
Instead, it reflects something deeper the forest, the language, and the spirit of Lanna,
retold through fabric in a subtle and thoughtful way.

Something you can actually see, touch, and feel. 🌿🧵🍀🕸

A new artwork design in progress. 🌿🧵

This yukata-style jacket is part of a new project, handcrafted from hand-spun cotton and naturally dyed fibers, slowly shaped through traditional stitching and textile techniques.

The piece is still in the design and development process exploring texture, form, and meaning through fabric and language.

The artwork carries Lanna words woven into the back of the garment “Maan” (หมาน) and “Kham” (ข่าม). 🍀

Maan (หมาน) represents good fortune, positive energy, and auspicious life, while Kham (ข่าม) reflects protection, sacred strength, and spiritual resilience.

This work is not finished yet. It is still growing, still evolving, still finding its final shape a quiet conversation between culture, textile, and time. 🤎💙

A slow process of turning language into wearable art. 🧶
