Tax, the new addition to the bar group who founded Teens of Thailand & Asia Today Bar, opened its door for the first time on 19th November 2020. The group is operated by a duo of industry veterans, Niks Anuman-Rajadhon & Gun Lee, who built their empire through bars in the old town & Chinatown area. o Asia Today which is less than a 100 meters away, walk further down the alley, cross the road and walk 50 meters to the right. Tax situate on the second floor of Black King Bar, a pizza joint that will eventually provide Tax their bar food, which is soon to open in mid-December. The concept of Tax is to harmonize our homemade vinegars and combine with ingredients that have a lot of umami, kakumi & savory notes since the era of plain drinks with edible flowers on top and calling it signature is way too exaggerated. “We like messing around with your palates & your egoes.” according to Niks. While on the bar design side, Gun Lee is well known for his unorthodox style (TOT & AT) has put together one of the masterpieces combining his lighting skills with street art-inspired interior. Downstairs, there’s a neon sign saying “Nothing is certain but Death & Tax”.
