This staircase is over 80 years old.
Before we began, we spent time with it — the peeling walls, the exposed brick, the worn stone floor. Everything told us someone had lived here before us.
We didn't tear it down. We kept the bones, changed only the color and the feeling.
Today a purple Vanda stands in the same spot, in the same space, on the same staircase.
Some things don't need to change. They just need to be cared for again.
