ธนาคารสาขาแห่งแรกในประเทศไทย ที่ผ่านการรับรองมาตรฐาน LEED v4 Interior Design and Construction : Commercial Interior ระดับ Platinum
‘Urban Oasis’ คือแนวความคิดหลักในการออกแบบโครงการ ‘UOB Sustainability Rayong’ โดยการสอดแทรกพื้นที่สีเขียวให้กระจายตัวอยู่ตามพื้นที่ใช้สอยต่างๆภายในอาคาร เพื่อสร้างบรรยากาศที่ส่งเสริมการใช้งานให้ผู้ใช้งานรู้สึกถึงความเป็นธรรมชาติ และการสื่อสารที่ชัดเจนด้าน Sustainability ของโครงการ
การออกแบบเริ่มต้นจากความตั้งใจที่ต้องการสร้างประสบการณ์การใช้งานธนาคารของลูกค้าในรูปแบบใหม่ โดยเน้นความเข้าถึงง่ายและลบภาพความเป็นธนาคารในรูปแบบเดิม แต่ยังคงไว้ซึ่งความน่าเชื่อถือของทางธนาคาร การออกแบบได้คำนึงถึงการใช้งานของกลุ่มลูกค้าที่หลากหลาย สะท้อนออกมาในพื้นที่ใช้งานในรูปแบบที่แตกต่างกันท่ามกลางพื้นที่สีเขียวที่ถูกสอดแทรกอยู่ให้รู้สึกถึงความสดชื่นและมีชีวิตชีวา เช่น พื้นที่พักคอยในรูปแบบขั้นบันได, พื้นที่นั่ง Engagement Space บริเวณชั้นลอยเพื่อส่งเสริมการมีปฏิสัมพันธ์ของทางธนาคารและกลุ่มลูกค้า ก่อให้เกิดประสบการณ์การใช้งานที่แตกต่างจากธนาคารโดยทั่วไป
งานออกแบบทั้งภายนอกและภายในอาคารจะสอดแทรกแนวความคิดเรื่องอาคารประหยัดพลังงาน การใช้ทรัพยากรอย่างคุ้มค่า และสร้างสภาพแวดล้อมที่ดีต่อสุขภาพและความเป็นอยู่ของผู้ใช้อาคาร ตั้งแต่การปรับรูปแบบ Facade อาคารเพื่อดึงแสงธรรมชาติให้เข้ามาในอาคารเพิ่มขึ้น การใช้วัสดุตกแต่งที่มีวิธีการผลิตที่เป็นมิตรกับสิ่งแวดล้อม รวมไปถึงการใช้วัสดุ Recycle เข้ามาในงานเฟอร์นิเจอร์ที่ใกล้ชิดกับผู้ใช้งาน ล้วนแล้วแต่เป็นการส่งเสริมแนวความคิดในการออกแบบทั้งสิ้น
นอกเหนือจากการออกแบบทางด้านกายภาพ ยังได้มีการใช้เทคโนโลยีเข้ามาเป็นตัวช่วยในการวัดผลและประเมิณผลข้อมูลที่เกี่ยวข้องกับสภาวะแวดล้อมภายในอาคาร และการประหยัดพลังงานของอาคาร เพื่อสร้างสภาพแวดล้อมที่ดีให้กับผู้ใช้งานภายในอาคาร ควบคู่ไปกับการใช้พลังงานรูปแบบต่างๆให้เกิดประสิทธิภาพสูงสุด และแสดงผลออกมาในรูปแบบหน้าจอบริเวณด้านนอกและด้านในอาคาร เพื่อให้งานออกแบบสมบูรณ์ทั้งภาพลักษณ์ แนวความคิดและการใช้งานจริง

'Urban Oasis' is the core design concept for the 'UOB Sustainability Rayong' project. Green spaces are integrated and dispersed throughout various functional areas within the building. This creates an atmosphere that supports the spatial function, allowing users to experience a sense of nature while clearly communicating the project's sustainability objectives.
The design originated from the intention to redefine the customer banking experience. It emphasizes accessibility and removes the conventional bank image, yet firmly maintains the institution's credibility. We considered the diverse needs of different customer groups, which is reflected in the varying spatial configurations. Interspersed green spaces are carefully placed to provide a fresh and vibrant environment. Elements such as the tiered seating in the waiting area and the Engagement Space on the mezzanine are designed to foster interaction between the bank and its customers, generating a spatial experience entirely distinct from typical banks.
Both the exterior and interior architectural design embed the principles of energy efficiency, resource optimization, and the well-being of the building's occupants. From modifying the building's facade to draw more natural daylight into the interior, to selecting decorative materials with eco-friendly manufacturing processes, and incorporating recycled materials into the furniture that users interact with closely—every detail purposefully reinforces the core design concept.
Beyond the physical space, technology has been implemented to measure and evaluate data regarding the indoor environment and energy conservation. This is to ensure an optimal environment for the users while maximizing the efficiency of energy consumption. The performance data is transparently displayed on screens located both outside and inside the building, completing the design in its visual image, conceptual narrative, and actual practical usage.
