C (The Consulate) Boutique Hotel
งานออกแบบรีโนเวทอพาร์ตเมนต์เก่าใกล้สถานกงสุลอเมริกา ให้กลายเป็น city hotel ขนาดกะทัดรัดที่มีกลิ่นอาย boutique ผสมผสานความเรียบง่ายขององค์ประกอบธรรมชาติ—อิฐ ไม้ และคอนกรีต—ชูความงามที่แท้จริงของวัสดุ
โครงการนี้เริ่มจากความตั้งใจของ Owner ที่ต้องการปรับเปลี่ยนอาคารจากห้องพักรายเดือน ให้กลายเป็นห้องพักรายวันที่ตอบโจทย์ผู้มาติดต่อราชการกับสถานกงสุลอเมริกา ภายใต้แนวคิดหลัก “ความอยู่ง่าย สะดวกสบายแบบโรงแรมกลางเมือง แต่มีบรรยากาศเงียบสงบ และอบอุ่นเหมือนมาพักบ้านเพื่อน”
เมื่อวิเคราะห์พื้นที่เดิม จากพื้นที่จอดรถยาวก่อนเข้าสู่ตัวอาคารที่ทึบและมืด ถูกปรับให้สอดรับกับฟังก์ชันและ circulation design โดยย้ายโซนต้อนรับมาไว้ด้านหน้าสุด เพื่อใช้ประโยชน์จากแสงธรรมชาติที่ผ่านหลังคาโปร่งแสง สร้าง First Impression ให้ผู้มาเยือนรู้สึกโปร่ง สบาย และสดชื่น โดยแนวคิด “ความสงบและสบาย” ถูกถ่ายทอดผ่านองค์ประกอบพื้นฐานของธรรมชาติ อย่าง ไม้ ดิน หิน และต้นไม้ ที่ถูกดัดแปลงและจัดจังหวะให้สอดคล้องกับการตกแต่งภายในอย่างประณีต
เมื่อเข้ามาสู่พื้นที่ภายใน ฟังก์ชันถูกจัดให้ไหลลื่นไปด้วยกัน ตั้งแต่โซนต้อนรับ → มุมนั่งพักผ่อน → มุมรับประทานอาหารเล็ก ๆ พื้น ผนัง และฝ้าเชื่อมโยงด้วยโทนและพื้นผิวที่สอดคล้องกับแนวคิดหลัก เฟอร์นิเจอร์ลอยตัวเลือกใช้ฟอร์มที่ตรงไปตรงมา ลดทอนรายละเอียดให้เข้าใจง่าย สัดส่วนความสูง-ต่ำ(proportion) เองก็ถูกคิดมาให้ส่งผลต่อความรู้สึกของผู้ใช้งาน เพื่อสร้างบรรยากาศเป็นกันเอง แม้จะเป็นการเข้าพักครั้งแรกก็รู้สึกอบอุ่นเหมือนอยู่บ้านที่คุ้นเคย
“การเปลี่ยนผ่านอารมณ์ด้วยจังหวะของสี” การใช้โทนสีในพื้นที่สาธารณะ (Public Zone) เน้นความโปร่ง สว่าง ด้วยการเลือกสีอ่อนในเฉดอบอุ่น พร้อมเปิดรับแสงธรรมชาติผ่านช่องเปิดขนาดใหญ่และวัสดุโปร่งแสง ทำให้พื้นที่มีบรรยากาศเป็นมิตรและปลอดภัยตั้งแต่แรกพบ เมื่อผู้เข้าพักก้าวลึกสู่พื้นที่ส่วนตัว (Private Zone) โทนสีจะค่อย ๆ เปลี่ยนเป็นเฉดเข้มและทึบมากขึ้น เสริมด้วยการใช้ lightingที่มิติ และการเปลี่ยนพื้นผิววัสดุ เพื่อไล่ระดับอารมณ์จากความสดชื่นสู่ความสงบและผ่อนคลายอย่างเป็นธรรมชาติ
ในส่วนของห้องพัก เรามองว่าอยากจะให้เกิดความแตกต่างจากภายนอกชัดเจน โดยหยิบสีน้ำเงินจาก identity brand ของโครงการ และดึงความเป็นแพตเทิร์นและพื้นผิวจากพื้นที่ภายนอก มาตีความใหม่ เพื่อสร้างลูกเล่นเฉพาะตัว และสอดรับกับการจัดวางไฟอย่างประณีต แม้แต่ละห้องจะเป็นสตูดิโอขนาดกะทัดรัด แต่การวางผังแบบเปิด การตกแต่งที่เรียบง่ายแต่มีดีเทล พร้อมมอบความรู้สึกประทับใจทันทีที่ก้าวเข้ามา
การออกแบบครั้งนี้ไม่ใช่เพียงการเปลี่ยนรูปลักษณ์ของอาคารเก่า แต่คือการสร้าง “ประสบการณ์การพักผ่อน” ที่ผสมผสานเรื่องราวของวัสดุธรรมชาติ เข้ากับฟังก์ชันที่ตอบโจทย์นักเดินทางในเมืองจึงเป็นมากกว่าโรงแรมเล็กใกล้เมือง แต่คือจุดหมายที่ทำให้ผู้มาเยือนรู้สึกว่า กลับมาพักบ้านเพื่อนที่ใส่ใจในทุกรายละเอียด

An old apartment near the U.S. Consulate has been transformed into a compact city hotel with a boutique atmosphere. The design blends natural elements—brick, wood, and concrete—highlighting their authentic beauty in a timeless way.
The project began with the owner’s vision to convert monthly rentals into short-stay accommodation for consulate visitors, guided by the idea: “the convenience of a city hotel with the quiet warmth of a friend’s home.”
The original long, dim approach from the parking area was redesigned for better flow and function. The reception was moved to the front, opening up to daylight through a translucent roof to create a fresh, airy first impression. Natural materials—wood, stone, and greenery—were arranged with care to evoke calm and comfort.
Inside, spaces connect seamlessly from reception → lounge → small dining area. Consistent tones and textures link floors, walls, and ceilings, while simple freestanding furniture with well-balanced proportions adds warmth and familiarity, making even first-time guests feel at home.
A shift in mood through color — Public zones feature warm, light tones with matte finishes to soften glare and welcome natural light. Moving into private areas, the palette deepens, complemented by warm lighting and textured surfaces, transitioning the mood from bright and lively to calm and restful.
Guestrooms are designed to stand apart from the public spaces. Colors from the hotel’s brand identity mix with patterns and textures inspired by the exterior, reinterpreted for a distinctive look. Though compact, each studio feels open thanks to a clear layout, refined details, and carefully designed lighting—delivering an immediate sense of delight.
More than a facelift, this project creates a restful experience that pairs the beauty of natural materials with the needs of city travelers. C (The Consulate) Boutique Hotel is not just a small hotel near the consulate—it’s a place that feels like coming home to a friend who has considered every detail.
