It is September. The season is shifting, and the migratory birds are arriving.

The Lesser Whistling Duck, a protected species in Thailand, has chosen the pond behind our workshop to rest.

Our work exists within nature’s system, not to harm it.

A factory pond becomes a sanctuary. We did not build a habitat for them.
We simply chose not to disturb the water, and to let the wild grass grow.
A sanctuary shaped by our restraint.

Our steel worker, in mask and leather gloves, is grinding the weld seams on a steel plate.
Steel appears in only some of our pieces, and the standard is one: the weld must be ground until it sits flush with the surface.
Once ground, each plate goes for finishing before it is assembled with the wood.

Wood Journal EP.2.

Wood Journal EP.2.
The machine planes the boards flat. The hands shape the curved parts.
Every steel piece is ground by hand before it meets the wood.
At the end, unfinished LUNAR chairs wait in the workshop while a PEBBLE stool gets its coat.

At the back of the LUNAR chair, a small round opening sits where the backrest joins the seat.
The whole surface is sanded smooth, with no sharp edges left.
The backrest takes the most sanding time, because on a curve this big any mistake shows clearly.

-
The SALMON bench stretches across the foreground while the MEENA sculpture stands on the right, in a quiet white room.
The straight lines of the bench meet the curved form of the sculpture, giving the space a calm rhythm.

The SALMON bench is built from a single Chamchuri log, cut and joined symmetrically, leaving a diamond-shaped opening at its core.
This is the original, Crafted in Chiang Mai.

PEBBLE stool

Two PEBBLE stools, one in natural wood and one in black, sit together in a coffee corner by a concrete wall.

This is the original, made in Chiang Mai. The rounded form comes from river pebbles. It looks calm and fits easily into many corners. Each stool is carved by hand from a single Chamchuri log, and the maker reads the grain before every cut, so no two pieces carry the same pattern.

The walee bench sits outdoors on a concrete floor beside a bed of river stones.
Sunlight through the leaves casts soft shadows on the top, revealing the wood grain and the small square openings of the joinery.
In this quiet setting, the beauty of the wood comes through clearly.
-

-
The PHAKA table stands in the middle of the room, set with ceramic cups and an old book.
Around it are the PHAKA chair and the PHAKA woven with its light woven seat against the dark wood.
A round paper lamp and a plant in the corner keep the room quiet and soft.
