Chet and Apisit Tunsakul, father-son designers, coffee enthusiasts, bold, no-sugar coffee in Bangkok.

After graduated from Glasgow School of Art in interior design in 2003, Apisit Tunsakul had worked for Mr Kongsak Yuktasevi at Leo International Design for 2 years. In 2009, Api made his decision to start his own interior design practice. He believes that good interior design creates good functionality to the spaces. Besides the world of design, Api is also the marketing director of Asia Koshi®, Or

ganic Japanese Rice, and Komeko®, Organic Japanese Rice Flour. Following through the notion of improving the farmer lives in Southern Thailand created by Mr Chet Tansakul who has acquired and developed the process of organic Japanese rice growing and organic rice flour producing. Api and Mrs Somsree Tansakul have been coordinating with non-profit groups who educate the public about the use of gluten-free rice flour and allergen issues. These organisations also create workshops for hands on experiences.

defined by sculptural silhouettes and a quiet, material-led vocabulary, the interior serves as a tactile record of a life lived across japan, the united kingdom, and north america. the assemblage, curated and anchored by the fluid geometries of barbara barry, is a study in soft layering set against the city’s kinetic skyline.

a sanctuary where global influences find a silent, harmonious permanence.

ep i | the architecture of disappearance

in trat residence, time is not measured by a clock, but by the gradual migration of shadows across raw stone.

hidden within an ancient durian orchard, this dwelling by the studio of chet and apisit tunsakul serves as a love letter to mid-century restraint, filtered through a tropical lens.

the father-and-son duo has realised a ‘transparent envelope’ that enables the structure to breathe in unison with the grove. by eschewing mass, the architecture recedes, inviting the visceral textures of the landscape to take centre stage.

visual calm is preserved by a seamless expanse of cabinetry, acting as the silent anchor of the home.

by integrating bespoke organisational systems, the mechanics of daily life are concealed. the kitchen is no longer a utility, but a quiet stage for existence.
