“ขี้ไหม” คือตำหนิจริงหรือ ?
ปุ่มปมเล็กๆ บนผ้าไหม อาจเกิดขึ้นระหว่างกระบวนการเตรียมและการสาวเส้นไหม จนหลงเหลือเป็นจุดหรือปุ่มปมเล็กๆ บนเส้นไหม เมื่อเส้นไหมเหล่านี้ถูกนำไปทอ ร่องรอยเล็กๆ ก็อาจปรากฏอยู่บนผืนผ้า ทำให้พื้นผิวดูไม่เรียบสม่ำเสมอเหมือนผ้าที่ผลิตด้วยเครื่องจักร
ปุ่มปมเหล่านี้จึงไม่ได้หมายถึง “ตำหนิ” แต่สะท้อนลักษณะของเส้นไหมจากธรรมชาติและผลงานผ้าทอมือที่มีสวยงามเป็นเอกลักษณ์
Is “Slub Silk” a Flaw?
Small lumps or knots on silk fabric can occur during the silk preparation and reeling process. These subtle irregularities remain on the threads. When woven into fabric, they appear as small textures that make the surface less uniform than machine-made textiles. Rather than being considered flaws, these marks reveal the natural character of the silk and the beauty of hand weaving.
