A new collection. Centuries of tradition.
This International Day of Rural Women, we’re proud to introduce the new Burundi Collection, now available at our Dar es Salaam store!
Developed in collaboration with Burundi as part of the initiative, the collection is handcrafted by 63 Burundian returnees women in Muyinga Province, Burundi.

Rooted in Burundi’s rich weaving heritage, the collection reinterprets traditional patterns and cultural symbols through contemporary design, celebrating the skills, creativity and craftsmanship of the women behind each piece.

Handmade in Burundi, designed by Emmanuel Babled.
Different sizes, traditional patterns and a beautiful range of colours to discover: visit us at Harbour Boutique Center, Chole Road, Dar es Salaam, or send us a DM to explore all the available options.

What happens when a wall becomes part of the design?
For Maku Zanzibar our SIRI system of woven mirrors and wall baskets was reimagined as a custom, double-sided installation, creating a sculptural divider between the bedroom and bathroom.

Craft becomes architecture. Function becomes a feature.
Working on a hotel, restaurant or interior project? Bring us the space, and let’s design what belongs there.

Designed by Emmanuel Babled and handmade by WomenCraft artisans in Ngara.

Sometimes, it’s the little things.
A coaster on the table. A small basket on a shelf. The pieces you use every day without thinking twice.

Our collection isn’t only about statement furniture: it’s full of smaller handwoven objects made to bring texture, craft and personality into the corners of your home.

Come find the little things that make a space yours at our store in Harbour Boutique!

If you’re in Dar, this is your sign to stop by.
Our store in Masaki holds a little more than the current collection. You might find pieces from past collections, samples developed for hospitality projects, one-offs and designs you won’t necessarily see everywhere else.

In other words: it pays to have a proper look around.
And yes, we’ll make you a coffee while you do ☕️

Yes, you can have the comfortable chair and the good-looking one.
The Duara Chair brings colour, curves and plenty of personality to a room, without asking you to compromise on where you actually want to sit.

Before the design, there is the material.
Grasses and natural fibres form the foundation of our craft, chosen for their texture, character and connection to the landscapes where we work.

And where we can give an existing material a second purpose, we do. Recycled plastic from grain sacks is transformed into thread and woven into many of our pieces, adding colour and pattern instead of becoming waste.

This World Environmental Health Day, swipe through to see some of the materials behind WomenCraft and how what we choose to make with matters just as much as what we make.
