We live in a time of quick answers and instant solutions. AI makes this temptation even stronger.
But in architecture, the fastest solution can become the most expensive mistake.

Good design is not about solving problems heroically later. It’s about understanding the site, structure, constraints and context well enough not to create those problems in the first place.

That’s what we are learning again while designing our hotel on a complex slope.

Less populism. More analysis. Better architecture.

The following video is from my lecture-manifesto The Power of the Whole where I examine the history of the development of humanity, culture and art through the prism of the division and creation of the whole, both of the art form and the peculiarities of the viewer's perception. We are still at the beginning of the story. We are talking about the beginning of the process of natural globalization.

The lecture took place at the M17 art center, where my sculpture Iron Curtain was exhibited.

The Mariinskyi Palace is far more than just a ceremonial residence in Kyiv — it is a living witness to Europe’s tectonic historical shifts.

My interview for Radio France is out now. We explored:

Echoes of the Great Northern War: how 18th-century geopolitical divides shaped the region.

The Global Industrial Revolution: placing Kyiv and the palace within the era of global transformations.

Historical symbolism: how these historical threads mirror modern reality and Ukraine’s current fight.

Architecture always speaks — if you know the right questions to ask.

My Artist Talk at the M17 Contemporary Art Center — “The Power of the Whole.”

In it, I explore the history of art through the stages in which this force manifests itself: Nature, Hierarchy, Selfhood, Integrality.

100 SCHOOLS. 100 ARCHITECTS?

Ukraine will need to build a lot — and build fast. But reusing a design does not mean returning to identical standardized schools.

The idea is simple: repeat proven solutions, not identical architecture.

That is exactly the approach behind our school project: creating a system that can adapt to different sites, contexts and community needs.

The school of the industrial era was organized almost like a factory: a bell, long corridors, identical classrooms, and identical tasks.

But the world has changed — and education must change with it.

In the school project created by Scandurra Studio and the Architectural Group Goldakovsky LLC, we proposed an environment for collaboration, independence, creativity, and diverse learning scenarios.

Ukraine does not just need to rebuild old schools. We need a new education system — and a new architecture for it.

And what do you think a modern Ukrainian school should be like?

Had an idea of making a stand lamp. Called "Light inside." Its a simple métaphore of having an inside light, illuminating the surroundings, the people arround. We are those lamps.
