🇬🇧 EN MY ARTIST MANIFESTO
🔹
I. ПРО ПІЗНАННЯ
🔹
III.
🔹
VII.
🔹
VIII.
🇬🇧 English Version
My art is not a reflection of the chaos of the outside world, but a conscious position shaped by my worldview, artistic education, experience, reflection, aspirations, the deliberate choice of my path, and the pursuit of harmony.
🔹
I. ON KNOWLEDGE
I believe that academic training, experience, and knowledge form the foundation without which creative freedom easily dissolves into chaos.
True freedom emerges where intuition is supported by knowledge, and where knowledge, in turn, opens new possibilities for intuition.
Without experience there is no form. Without form there is no meaning.
For me, art begins not with accident, but with understanding.
🔹
II. ON MASTERY
Creativity is a natural expression of being human. Art is the destination. Craft is the path that leads to it. I work with a material that neither tolerates haste nor forgives carelessness. Every tapestry represents months of concentration, during which every thread, every line, every colour decision is deliberate.
Quality, to me, is more than an aesthetic category. It is first and foremost an ethical one. It reflects responsibility—to the material, to the profession, to culture, and to the people who encounter the work. Craft may exist without art. Art cannot exist without craft. Art begins where mastery becomes inseparable from meaning.
🔹
III. ON SIMPLICITY
To me, simplicity is never simplification. It is the result of complexity brought into order. Conciseness is born only after a long process of searching, refining, and removing everything that is unnecessary. Simplicity is the precise relationship between elements. It is structured complexity. This is why simplicity without education becomes banality, while experience transforms simplicity into one of the highest forms of truth.
🔹
IV. ON BEAUTY
I see beauty not as ornament, but as a form of intellectual resistance. I believe beauty exists objectively It reveals itself in nature, mathematics, physics, architecture, music, logic, engineering, medicine—in every discipline through which humanity discovers the underlying order of the world. For this reason, I find it remarkable that beauty is so often dismissed precisely in art. Beauty arises where intellect, knowledge, mastery, and simplicity converge. Harmony, order, reason, and beauty are not identical concepts, yet they are so deeply interconnected that they often become different expressions of the same principle.
Conflict is easy to create. Provoking an immediate reaction is easier still. Creating harmony is infinitely more demanding. That is why harmony has become a radical act. My work does not depend on shock, nor does it require destruction. At a time when deconstruction has become a familiar cultural language, the ability to create wholeness is, to me, an act of artistic courage. The natural forms that inhabit my tapestries are not an escape from reality. They are reminders that a harmonious world remains possible. I consciously reject rigid mirror symmetry in favour of living balance.
🔹
V. ON MEANING
For me, the decorative has never been about ornament. It is a language of symbols. Every image, rhythm, colour, and texture contributes to a structure of meaning. I do not seek to make a space merely more beautiful. I seek to make it more meaningful.
🔹
VI. ON SPACE
I believe that art belongs within everyday life. The home is not a refuge from reality; it is where reality is shaped. Comfort is neither weakness nor complacency. It is a consciously created environment in which a person can remain whole. I do not decorate space. I help give it structure. Art should be more than a reaction to chaos. It has the power to establish an inner order. That is why my work speaks to those who seek not another reflection of anxiety, but a point of balance—something enduring upon which to stand.
🔹
VII. ON TRADITION
I do not see tradition as the past. To me, it is the foundation of the future. For me, the aesthetics of Ukrainian Baroque and Art Nouveau, together with the artistic traditions of the Reshetylivka School, are far more than historical styles or visual forms. They constitute a way of thinking—a system of principles, a structure that makes it possible to grow without losing one's roots. Tradition does not hinder innovation. It is what gives innovation depth, continuity, and meaning.
🔹
VIII. ON INDEPENDENCE
Contemporary culture often teaches us to fear being ourselves. It encourages the desire to conform, to follow fashion, to remain acceptable. I choose a different path. I do not seek to follow trends. I seek to remain faithful to my own system of values. I create works that outlive their moment rather than serve it. I believe art should be constructive. It should inspire creation rather than destruction, understanding rather than distraction, and spiritual growth rather than decline.
• I reject primitivism disguised as conceptualism.
• I reject ignorance presented as courage.
• I reject provocation that substitutes spectacle for substance.
Instead, I choose continuity over the fleeting. Texture over the pixel. Responsibility over effect.
🔹
IX. ON RESPONSIBILITY
I believe that every artist is responsible for everything they bring into space and time. Every work of art shapes the environment around it—emotionally, culturally, and intellectually. Art is never neutral. It either cultivates or diminishes the world we inhabit. I do not create noise. I seek to create presence.
Inner tension does not have to manifest itself through conflict. It may exist as the search for light, balance, and meaning. That is the path I consciously choose.
🔹
X. ON CHOICE
To be an artist is to choose, every single day:
• between order and chaos;
• between depth and superficiality;
• between permanence and accident;
• between responsibility and immediate effect.
I am not afraid to stand outside fashion. I am not afraid of slowness. I am not afraid of complexity. I choose knowledge that leads to freedom. Mastery that gives rise to simplicity.
Simplicity that opens the way to harmony. Harmony from which beauty emerges. Beauty that leads us toward truth.
I believe in art that can only be created by a human being—born of knowledge, experience, responsibility, and the soul.
This is the art I choose.
It is this art that I choose to create.
