This satin robe is signed by retired professional wrestler, Ric Flair. Also known as the “Nature Boy,” he adopted this title in 1975 as a result of his wrestling style which emphasized grappling over power. Flair’s career spanned fifty years, and he is recognized by the WWE as a 16-time world champion and considered one of the greatest wrestlers of all time! We’ve presented this piece in our archival and nicely priced “Jersey Special” framing package.

⛓️‍💥
On June 19, 1865, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued, enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas, finally learned they were free. That day became known as Juneteenth - a powerful reminder of both the long struggle for freedom and the resilience of those who fought for it. To honor the holiday, here is a Mac McGill poster from our archives that illustrates the historic 1781 Massachusetts court case (Brom and Bett v. Ashley) which granted Elizabeth "Mum Bett" Freeman her freedom.

😵‍💫
An original work by our customer’s father, this mind-bending piece is an example of optical art or “op art,” a style that uses distorted or manipulated geometric patterns to create optical illusions. Originating from the early 20th century, the term “op art” was coined in 1964 by “Time Magazine.” We’ve archivally presented this piece in an orange wood profile from Larson Juhl and TruVue 99% UV filtering and shatter resistant “Conservation” acrylic.

This signed print is by Annie Lee (1935-2014), an African American artist who began painting as a child but did not turn to art professionally until age forty. Her first gallery show in 1985 sold out in four hours! Known for her “Black Americana” style, Lee depicted everyday African American life using expressive, faceless figures and simplified two-dimensional forms. We’ve archivally presented this piece in a matte black wood profile from Studio Moulding, double matting by Artique (Larson Juhl), and TruVue 99% UV filtering “Conservation” glass.

🇭🇷
“Lines Of Origin” is an original acrylic on canvas by Croatian artist Aleksandra Skrlec. Commissioned by our customer, this painting reflects both his Croatian origins and his current home in Philadelphia. The golden lines trace the contours of Tounj, a Croatian town, and the constellations of Libra and Scorpio (representing our client and his son) reach across the vibrant blue of the Adriatic Sea. We’ve stretched this canvas as a gallery wrap on custom bars by Jack Richeson & Co.
🎨
Don’t leave your canvas rolled up! Bring in your unstretched canvases and we will help you transform them into beautiful finished artwork with custom stretcher bars and countless framing options.
