I had a great customer in yesterday and we were trading stories. He told me about the time when he was with his truck driver father in Los Angeles at the time of the Watts Rebellion. They were stuck in the chaos. A man came up to them knocking on the window asking for a ride out of the chaos. He started to roll the window down and his dad told him not to because you don't know who that is. He told his dad he does know who it was. It was John Wayne. They let him in and he told them he saw their Iowa plates and thought they would help him. They drove him a few miles away to safety and let him out. I don't know if it was true but it was a great story.
