Kawaika Art Expo🎨👩🏽‍🎨

A very big thank you to those that stopped by today at the Kawaika Art Expo at Dancing Eagle Casino. There were many beautiful works of art, with an amazing fashion show and artist performances. A truly spectacular event and a huge shout out to the Laguna Community Foundation for hosting the event. A wonderful group of people giving local Indigenous artists a chance to present their works. 👼🏽Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day👼🏽

🩷🩵08-25-25🩵🩷

1/4 I never thought I would be part of a national statistic; let alone one that has been difficult to deal with. Only one symptom shown and it wasn’t concerning enough to figure out that I was pregnant. Calculating how far along was not easy but knowing it wasn’t more than 12 weeks doesn’t diminish the fact losing them was the biggest and painful heartbreak that my partner and I have dealt with.

Dealing with this loss has been challenging and messing with my mental health. My partner feels like he didn’t protect us and the guilt that I feel about it is something I haven’t talked about with anybody. What had been hurting was not knowing they were there and continuously wondering ‘why’ and ‘what if’.

There’s information that says it happens and wasn’t my fault in any way: that this happens to 1 out of every 4 pregnancies. Slowly we’ve been accepting that it wasn’t our time and sometimes, things happen for a reason.

My boyfriend and my family have helped me get through the days and my art has been helping me heal in ways I never thought. It brings me comfort to know that they are safe and welcomed with open arms to our angels in heaven.

In honor of Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day; a reminder your loss matters and that sometimes things happen for reasons unknown but continue with life and be happy with other blessings that Creator gives you.

🪶 Happy Indigenous People’s Day New Mexico🪶

I hope all of you amazing Indigenous creatures have an amazing day full of joy and celebrations. Enjoy the countless festivities that are being held across Mother Earth. 🌍

Nowadays, it’s a fight more than ever to protect who we are as a people and our culture. Entities want to take away our right as the Original people of this land. Our safe spaces are in danger and tribal lands are being threatened.

Everyday, it is hard both emotionally and mentally to deal with these battles but continuing to speak out to have your voices heard will bring light to the problems and progress will be made. ✊🏽

May Creator bless your days with lots of positive prayers and love. 💛

Today is the Pueblo of Acoma’s annual San Esteban Feast up at our mesa top. Everyone is invited to watch our cultural dances, eat some amazing food, and buy amazing art; mines included. 😊 As always, many blessings to the communities, tribal leaders for their sacrifices, and our members and their families.💛

Friendly reminders: There is no picture/video taking allowed in the plaza or of the dancers 📵 Cash is preferred by the artists and food vendors(no cell phone service)💸Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated🚰 & Wear sunscreen!🧴

Last Day of Pathways!

Today is the final day of Pathways. 🥹 It has been a great weekend being in Santa Fe, selling, and seeing all the vendors. Come on down for some final purchases for yourselves and your loved ones.
