NFLCC (Vintage Lure Collectors)

The National Fishing Lure Collectors Club (NFLCC) was founded in 1976. The purpose is to foster an awareness of collecting fishing tackle as a hobby.

The purpose is to foster awareness of fishing tackle collecting as a hobby and to assist members in the location, identification, and trading of vintage fishing-related tackle. Logos or branding other than those of the NFLCC that may appear on shared images does not constitute an endorsement.

Our September NFLCC Gazette is hitting member mailboxes now. Inside the envelope members will find their membership card and a paper ballot for three proposed bylaws amendments. Paper ballots must be postmarked on or before October 26th, 2026. Members may also vote online by clicking the blue button on the website "Bylaws Ballot Fall 2026" and logging into the member system.

Our Tackle of the Month is the Klipon Dying Minnow Diver Wobbler. Deriving its name from a patented hook placement device that enabled easy change, this lure can be found with and without the metal dive plate. We're blazing a trail west with our Western States Fishing Tackle Exchange, September 12, 2026 in Pomona, California. The public is invited to attend from 9am - 5pm with a $10 one-day family guest membership (includes partner/spouse and children 16 and under).
Exhibitors will have a variety of vintage and collectible fishing tackle, from lures and creels to rods and reels. We're also offering free appraisals, so bring along that old tackle box.

Congratulations to our member Chance Dunlap, winner of the Best Gazette Article of the Year award. His article "New Jersey Folk Art : Speer Family Frogs" appeared in our March Gazette issue.

Our NFLCC Gazette is a full-color 48 page quarterly publication loaded with informative articles written by experienced collectors, and it's usually a members-only publication, but we wanted to share Chance's article with everyone. President’s Message: July 16, 2026

Wow, what a National! For those that made the trek to Fort Wayne, I hope you enjoyed the festivities as much as I did. The amazing assortment of fishing tackle and time with special friends made for a memorable event. Although the numbers are still being tallied, I am pleased to share that our 50th celebration is our largest show in at least 15 years!

We had more than 80 display tables at the big show. Thanks to the many members who shared their collections. The judged winners included the following:

Pre-1940 – Joe Stagnitti, New York, for his eye-popping metal and minnow tube collection.

1940-1975 – Mike Kechkaylo, Michigan, for his Creek Chub Silver Flash collection.

1976-Later – Joe Damron, Georgia, for his Mike Estep lure collection.

Best Single Case – Kerry Chatham, Alabama, for his patriotic inspired Haskell Minnow display.

Best of Show Doc Herr Award – Dave Bush, New York, for his museum quality Louis Rhead display.

People’s Choice Award – Joe Stagnitti for his remarkable NY display.

Our North Texas Antique Fishing Lure & Tackle Show is August 1st. Members of the public may attend beginning at 8am with a $10 family guest membership (includes partner/spouse and children 16 and under). Members of High School Bass Teams receive free admission when wearing their team jerseys.
This event is co-hosted by the NFLCC and Texas Antique Tackle Collectors.

Our National Convention is July 9-11 in Fort Wayne, IN. This year is the 50th Anniversary of the NFLCC and our members will be gathering to celebrate.

We have numerous member-exclusive activities including our survivorship auction, seminars on Tennessee Lure Makers and Paw Paw, and a showroom filled with over 350 exhibitor tables filled with all types of vintage and collectible tackle.

For the public we have a special opportunity to tour our Display Showcase with over 80 tables filled with unique collections. The public can tour the Display Showcase on Thursday and Friday from 11am - 2pm for $1 per person.
