HAPPY EARTH DAY! A great way to be good to our planet is to reuse items! The Katz Meow is the perfect place to shop and help Earth at the same time. We are excited to share that The Katz Meow was voted BEST ANTIQUE STORE and BEST RESALE CLOTHING SHOP in the 2025 voting for Alameda Magazine. We were also in the top five for Best Gift Shop, Best Greeting Cards Store, Best Jewelry Store and Best Women's Clothing & Shoe Store! Thank you to everyone who voted for us!!! If you haven't been in before, come check us out. As you can see, we have a little bit of everything. Plus, new items come in daily!

Congratulations to GrannyCon! What a fun and fabulous event they held today! Everyone who worked at the store today so enjoyed being a part of this excellent fundraiser. It was so well organized and all the participants were having such a great time. We are thrilled to have been able to participate and partner with such a great local group! The Katz Meow has donated $400 to GrannyCon to help them continue to provide support for BCPP, Bay Area Young Survivors and Mastick Senior Center. Keep up the great work Grannies and hope to see you all again next year!

It is the leading science-based advocacy organization working to prevent breast cancer by eliminating our exposure to toxic chemicals and radiation.

GrannyCon brings folks together for a cause that’s serious — preventing breast cancer — with a vibe that’s joyful, mischievous, and deeply rooted in love for our neighborhood. Whether you’re a Granny, a Grampa, or a ‘Grand-them,’ all are welcome to dress up and fight for the women we love.

What began as a wild idea has transformed into an annual tradition with hundreds of participating businesses and community members raising tens of thousands of dollars for life-saving breast cancer research, education and legislation.
GrannyCon is a rollicking, bingo-style scavenger hunt down Alameda’s beloved Park Street, taking place each March around International Women’s Day. By dressing up in full granny gear, we celebrate the heroic ladies who have come before us and the wise older women we are or aspire to be someday. Activities at participating businesses, optional food and drink specials, an afterparty with special guests and costume contest are all part of the fun.

HAPPY NEW YEAR! Thank you to all of our faithful customers - and to all those who are new to the store this season. We hope that 2026 brings you lots of joy, good health, adventure and prosperity!
We will be open on New Year's Eve day (Wed) from 11am - 4pm.
We will be CLOSED on New Year's Day. However, we will be OPEN every other day - including Thursdays - in January! Thank you again for your patronage and may you all have a wonderful 2026!

Still looking for holiday gifts? Come check out The Katz Meow! We've been so busy that we didn't have time to take a lot of photos, but there's so many interesting, unusual and beautiful items in our store. You're sure to find some wonderful gifts! We will be open Monday and Tuesday from 11am - 6pm. We will also be open on Christmas Eve from 11am until at least 4pm - later if we still have customers!
