This is the photo on my student ID. That's right, I'm back in school! Last year called for a transformation and I answered. Being of service in a deeper way, using my creativity and sparkle to help others heal and expand...these yearnings led me to go back to school and I'm knee deep in it! Going strong in the Bachelor of Psychology completion program at CIIS. At the moment, it's hard to look too far ahead, but the plan is to get my Masters and my MFT license, and become an Expressive Arts therapist.

The program I'm in is demanding, overwhelming at times, too, I'm not gonna lie. But I'm also being challenged and engaged and loving it all. And that's exciting. It turns out, our brains are literally wired for life-long learning (neuroplasticity)!

There's a line in one of my favorite books, The Alchemist, it says something like, 'When you step out in the direction of your dreams, the whole universe conspires with you'. ✨

When I was still unsure about my plan, and hesitant about returning to school at 46, this was the sage advice I received: 1) It's never too late- REALLY!!! 2) In 5 years, you'll be doing something, so why not this?

That's all I got for now. Hope everyone out there is doing well, being kind, and taking good care of each other. If you need me, I'll have my nose in a book. Occasionally, I'll check in over at Keep in touch! 🪶✨🧠📝💜

New outdoor path lighting! They're a tad taller than I wanted, but I'm a bit shorter than I'd like, so it all evens out. (The wires, if you can see them, will not be visible when we're all finished.) ❤️ Thx to my fav guy, .roadie i wouldn't get half this stuff done without you.

New bifold doors! No more folding screen with rug samples slapped on. (See last pic. We had no separation for sound, so I had to get creative in the interim.) My office feels very official now. Excuse the drop cloth, still touching up details. 🖌️,🎨💙roadie

Feeling the full moon energy, powerful transformation is here. Big changes in our front yard to match! We aligned on a revised design. Went to the nursery today and picked out new plants, relishing all the green, the oxygen, even in the midst of the smokey skies, the heat, and the how awkward I always feel with a mask on. Butterflies landed on my hat.

While I've found myself in a lot of down moments lately, I refuse to let "it" win. When the air is falling white ash and smells like a fireplace, my eyes burn, my throat gets hoarse and my heart aches. Yet, in the face of all the uncertainty, I know I have a choice. To choose what thoughts I think and to discard the ones that are no longer playing my song.

If your ego is getting in your way and it's hard to know which voice to listen to, remember this: the voice of your ego is demanding, loud, selfish, angry, cynical. The voice of your higher self is always kind, loving, gentle, and yes persistent when necessary, but never, ever cruel. Tune in and turn on.

True freedom begins in the mind. And we all have the power to make a different choice everyday.

New garden/side yard design.

When you remove old boundaries and divisions, so many possibilities open up. We don't have to keep that pathway. We can change the brick we never loved. We can go minimal. We could even take out that tree in the front. Uuhhhh... Okay. Backup. Ixnay on the etray.
We still need SOME boundaries.
