I really do not like to use chemical st*****rs. They are stinky and dry up very quickly in the arid region I live. Then you have to deal with all the mess. And of course, I get it all over me too!!

The paint on this gal was way too thick, either a latex or spray paint on the top, and was thus making a huge mess with the sanding discs and still not coming off.

So I opted for the heat gun and scrapping tool.

Let's see how long it takes to get her cleaned up so we can see all the damage under this heavy coat.

It looks like we have the red on top of a dark gray, on top of a light blue, on top of a brown, on top of a cream, on top of a yellow. The yellow looks to maybe be a primer?

So yeah, she has 5 different colors on top of a primer.

Wowzers!!! No wonder she called to me from the online pictures!

Do you ever get to a point that you have so many pieces of furniture in your stash that you really don't know what all you have? And are overwhelmed with all the chaos?

Well, I reached the tipping point recently. Or maybe I should say tripping point as that was the catalyst.

During a recent rainy day, I took the time to analyze the situation. As I was taking a break from painting, I sat down and made a list of all the bigger things that are here, just waiting for their turn on the workbench.

Y'all, there were 32 things on that list!!!

I have just completed another project project when I remembered the list. So I found the safe place I had put it and started looking for the last two projects that I have completed in order to cross them off the list.

Well, only one of them was on there! So I added the missing one, and then crossed them both off.

Great progress right?

Well, now I had to add two new pieces that I picked up earlier this week!

So yeah, still at 32 projects on the furniture to do list.

I am gonna be busy for a little bit!

But I am going to remember to stop and take in all the beautiful fall weather and scenery as I take the next project.

The painted foundation has been completed on the headboard of this MCM basket weave twin bed. Now to move away from it and not try to fix any small imperfections. Time for a cup of coffee before starting on the footboard and side rails. Then we get to move to the fun detail work!!

I always tell myself that I can paint inside the lines, no need to go to all the trouble of taping it off. And then, I slip and go outside the lines. So I am taking the time now to go back and do it right! Then get back to doing the fun and creative parts that I love!!!!
