Council's Tree House

Council's Tree House I welcome each and every one of you to this page. My name's Trina Council. You might say I'm a micro-business. That is, I do things one at a time.

I am a one-person operation and I work in small batches. There are no fancy machines here. I use a 5-year-ol

I went over to Fort Garland today and visited the museum there near the junction of 160 and 159. I took these pictures of the three original pieces I have waiting for their forever homes for sale there.

The largest one is called "Wolf Trail: The Path to Heaven." It's a collage on reclaimed wood created with a watercolor wolf and acrylic monotype printed paper, and one small cutout from a 1960s science book.

The next one called "Homage to Ute Mountain." This is the Ute Mountain in New Mexico, right across the border from San Luis. It's a watercolor painted mountain and plateaus with a large beaded red acrylic sun with a yellow beam of light shining down on Ute Mountain. I mounted this one on a reclaimed handmade frame and made it into a cradle-board frame. I'm really proud of this one.

The last and the smallest one is a watercolor bird collaged onto an abstract acrylic background on old jeans that serve as the canvas. It's called "Ready For Flight," and it also has some beadwork on it.

Here's a piece I call "Mysterious Valley" that I finished last summer. It's a combination of gel print collage, painting, and block printing.

I rehabilitated an old tray frame and an old MDF board and created this.

I made some beaded cuff bracelets from old jeans, fabric scraps, and fabric paint.

The earth-toned one is a free-style beadwork, while the other one is beadwork made on a beading loom and attached to the fabric cuff with beads and sequins.

What do you think? Should I make more?

Who needs the Tooth Fairy when we've got the Teefie Monster?

Say, "Hello!" to Gore-Jess, the scary-not-scary teefie monster! She is all cloth and stuffed with premium Fiberfil stuffing. On her back is a tiny pocket, perfect for putting a fallen tooth in to await a treat from the teefie monster!

This will be available for purchase, along with other weird and wonderful stuffed creatures I've made for the Christmas markets.

Here's a sneak peak at the NEW trees I've made for this Christmas holiday season! My personal favorite is the Frida Kahlo one with the skull and beads on top.

All the real wood and pine cones I use have been frozen for several days and cleaned to remove dirt and other things.

Again, you can find me at Crestone on November 28 & 29, Milagros on December 5, and Fort Garland Museum on December 13.

Hope to see you there!
