I was this close to painting it… SO glad I didn’t. 😅🔥
This mid-century modern credenza came to me dry, sun-faded, and full of uneven tones — but the bones were too good to cover.

Stripped to bare wood → shellac → my first time using a wood toner (new obsession) → multiple coats of poly… and the grain just exploded back to life. ✨

Definitely one of my cleanest flips to date.

This isn’t a quick flip — it’s a full restoration.

Preserving the story, not sanding it away…

This console table ✳️Now Available✳️ was built from a 19th-century board I grabbed from a barn on the New York/Vermont border — every crack, knot, and uneven line I left in place on purpose. The goal wasn’t perfection — it was preservation.
I applied a semi gloss oil poly finish to bring out the character and history of the wood without covering it up, letting 100+ years of wear and weather do the talking. The natural patina tells its own story — no filters needed.

Added some simple 28” black hairpin legs for a clean, modern contrast that lets the top take center stage.
