Turns out, chasing your dreams sometimes means circling back to where you started. For now.
Soo yea! I moved back home to Utah! Back to being surrounded by the giant, familiar mountains (but missing the giant, green trees). It feels right and I’m ready to put my workshop together and see if I can get back to my regular planned programming 🫡 I’ve had a handful of things I’ve started that I’ve put off because I just didn’t feel ready, but being back home, somehow I’ve got that spark again? Let’s see how long we can keep it lit 🙃

I kind of pulled a disappearing act from Roots Revived over the last year while I took care of my mental health. Stepped into my workshop today for the first time in SO long and remembered that part of taking care of my mental health WAS doing the work I loved (duh Shelby). Little by little, I’ll get back to doing this kind of stuff again ❤️

This slower pace has been so helpful at getting back to enjoying the art behind my work. Social media really creates a type of pressure that is so unhealthy. The need to constantly create content to keep up with the algorithm. The pressure to be unique so that the people who copy your work stand out less than your original pieces. The feeling that you have to stay so busy in order to be “successful”.
It’s just not for me. I like putting my heart into these and hope to make pieces that will capture someone else’s heart too. I’m just here to create and enjoy the process. Even if that means I might take a hit from the evil instagram algorithm 😉
Anyways. Here’s one of the fall pieces I’ve made in the last few weeks. I finished a few that I’m excited to show!

Literally painted one fingernail for this picture.
Anyways, I made a few of these last week for a local realtor that needed them to put in gift baskets. Genius idea.
