Story
For centuries, the people of Mogok have handcrafted gemstone paintings, using low-grade rough gemstones or mineral stones found in the region, to create unique and striking pieces of art. Their dedication to their craft is inspiring, and this traditional art form is deeply ingrained in their cultural heritage. Mogok is an 800 years old historic city in northern Myanmar (Burma). Mogok is fam
ous for the world’s finest gems including ruby, sapphire, spinel, peridot and moonstone etc: as about thousand of working mines and diggings are found there today. Mogok is also the heart for local independent artisans who live their live-hood handcrafting gemstone paintings, using low-grade rough gemstones or mineral stones found in the region. With the changing times and the rise of mass-produced goods, the demand for traditional artisan crafts has declined. This has left many talented local artisans struggling to make ends meet and preserve their cultural heritage. We want to change this narrative by collaborating with these local independent artisans, providing them with an opportunity to showcase their skill and artworks to an international audience. Join us in our mission to support local artisans and promote sustainable artisan businesses through fair trade. Together, we can make a difference and build a better future for these local communities. About Us
